FSX Great Barrier Scenery Problem

Postby cooldad » Sat Sep 07, 2024 8:58 pm

Hi fellow simmers. I decided to resurrect FSX that's installed on my Laptop. All seemed to work fairly well except I notice Claris airfield Gt Barrier doesn't look how I'd remembered it. I had installed GreatBarrierIslandX which looked really good. Now I find some sort of generic hanger is place over the top, I suspect it may be an Orbx addon as I also have animated people there as well. I can still see the Creator2003 /Michael Allen-Andrews version sticking out behind it. I can't find my original install greatbarrierislandX.zip file but if somebody can send me a copy a new install may fix it.

Another problem I have is NZWN (Robins Addon) has developed huge holes where the grass should be. The taxiways are ok. I've reinstalled this airport but the problem is still there. Maybe a flatten needs to be re-done. I can't remember how this was done now as I use MSFS2020 for the last 2 years and I'm getting old! Hopefully Robin may see this post <_<

Anyway thanks for listening and I hope to find some answers,

Cheers
Paul

First thing is to check the scenery library priority -- Orbx likes to keep itself at top priority, so that it overwrites other addons, but you need to drop it down below any of your local addon scenery. This is done in Orbx Central.

Thanks Robin. I seem to remember this procedure from long ago! I'll give it a shot and update this post.
