Omaka 2025

When I saw this headline "New Zealand to slug tourists nearly $100 per visit" I was about to cancel all my bookings. but given that most of our media are either controlled or heavily influenced by Murdoch, I thought I would check your local news. This key sentence was missing from the Oz source I used: "Visitors from countries other than Australia and most Pacific Islands are required to pay the tax when visiting New Zealand."... and our ABC did not mention the issue at all.
So for the moment, I will still be coming.

'Propliner' is actually short for 'Proper airliner, with big rumbly radials'

Many places worldwide have recognised it's no fun for anyone to have a succession of tourist bombs dropped in your sleepy village.
A tourist fee might discourage some, but at the very least there's some money to be dropped in the local economy.
I guess there's some kind of balance to be found - I'm all for a tourist annual quota.

Omaka 25 sounds like fun... :plane:
