Oi! All youse 737 Fanbois!

Heading into dusk tonight, my house was under the repeated flightpath of something which used to be the preserve of the Orions:
around 2,000ft and on course for Whenuapai Rwy 21.
After the third pass I dug out Flightradar on the phone, and snapped him overhead just before the light went.

A thing of beauty, the wing is bigger than you might expect, and the motors make a laid-back sonorous hum.
It's also a particularly potent device, and we own some!

Charl, given the conditions that is a great pic. RAAF Amberley is just 40km east of here, so from time to time there is some activity locally, and of course a train ride to Ipswich provides a great view of the base. The C-17s and the Airbus tankers are very quiet, the F/A 18s less so. Oddlynuff, of all the visitors that turn up, the noisiest ever was the B-2 stealth bomber - a pair of them visited last year before the exercises up north. No C27s as yet, but up until UQ closed the College airstrip, I used to have Caribous flying up my street at 500' AGL . Just a memory now, it's a solar panel farm these days

'Propliner' is actually short for 'Proper airliner, with big rumbly radials'

Thanks Mike, didn't realise the Stealth Bomber would be noisy!
I guess if you have the radar cross section of a small turkey it doesn't matter :)
