CVR transcript from SPAir 666

Postby Splitpin » Sun Feb 26, 2023 8:24 am

After watching another one of Irfan's videos, I can only imagine how frenzied my own attempt would be. I'm ok getting the approach set up, but the last 500 or so feet turn to custard ..mainly due to slideshow frame rates and a stick possessed by something evil. I recently demolished a large part of the runway at Zurich using a 737-500 (AFS2)

Those final moments would have sounded like this.

Twenty-five hundred.
1000
500
Approaching minimums
Too low flaps
"bugger"
1000
Glide slope
"F*** this"
500
Bank angle
"bollocks"
100
50, 40,30 (announced rapidly )
100
20
50
Retard, retard
100

more expletives and sounds of disintegrating aircraft parts.

Cheers Big guy ..... the annoying thing is the "stutter" screen freezes, but when it starts again, the sim has advanced and the aircraft has started a slow roll or pitched up or some bloody thing.
Doing a big clean up today ...gigabytes of crap working away in the background slowing everything down, so hopefully.....

Mr. 'Pin: I believe you are the only person I know of, who could turn a series of numbers into a Laugh Out Loud paroxysm.
Retard, retard

Geez actually I can't stop. It's the implied widening of the eyes.

Charl, Im glad it made you laugh...nothing like a quick shot of endorphins.
However, I get revenge ...in a way in real life. Sometimes I torment the GPS in my car. I'll load a destination, then do the exact opposite of the verbal prompts....amazing how fast it really tries to get me on course.
I've never had it shut down on me , but the voice changed during one session which was a bit spooky. I wonder if I will ever drive it to the "Retard, retard" point :ph43r:

I actually experienced something close when on board an ATR, landing at Krakow a few years back.
Thankfully he went around..

My GPS uses me as a mule: sends me on a route not of my choosing, I strongly suspect so it can tell everyone else NOT to use it!
