Here's an invitation to join our very informal group VFR flight on the evening of 16 October 2022 (Sunday) taking off at 7.30pm (NZDT).

Departing from Masterton (NZMS), we're flying north to Dannevirke (NZDV).
Then flying west to Palmerston North (NZPM).
Then northwest to Ohakea (NZOH).
Then south to Foxton (NZFP)
Then heading further south to our final destination at Paraparaumu (NZPP).

This trip which should take just over one hour.

Plane of choice this time is the Cessna 172, or similar.

Flying will be in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020.
Server is South East Asia.
Time set is 1200 hours (noon NZT).
Weather is optional.
Add-on scenery of your choice.

Using Discord 'Long White Cloud' Server for voice traffic. Please try and have voice available. It makes its easier for everyone to know what's going on.

See you there, Dave (ZKDWF)

The flight plan is here

Will try to make this, but ... my new paragliding gear has arrived, and we're coming into the long days and good weather, so as long as it is daylight I can't guarantee it! :D

Upgraded my Windows SSD on my PC to 1TB ... real easy. Flew for a day with no problems.

But, damn, somewhere along the line, I managed to wreck one of the USB ports, and now I have got a 'USB Device over current status' error on POST.
Managed to eliminate the fault, but it reappeared the next day, and has stayed there consistently, so I can't boot up now.

I have looked on Google, Youtube, etc. Plenty there, but nothing has got rid of the error, and most sites ultimately pointed to a motherboard fault.

After a few days of fault finding, I came to the realization that the problem is on the motherboard, and I have sent for a new motherboard (two day delivery), and hopefully, I will be up and running again for next week's flight.
