The Harrier is part of the tech tree from Heaven. The Pegasus engine is an extremely good power plant. HumanKind were supposed to build bigger aircraft using VTOL and eventually stop using runways. Now days new tech has led to more development into VTOL which flies automatically and takes off, cruises and lands using Autopilot/FBW and HIGHLY ACCURATE NAVIGATION SYSTEMS. There will most likely be more versions of the Harrier in the future. :plane:
There are flying cars coming which can cruise at 450 MPH and anyone would be able to use them.

The best Harrier sim is DCS AV8B, it is extremely accurate. Combat Air Patrol 2 looks good, I'll have to check it out some time.
DCS AV8B though the FBW is very well modeled.

If you can find John Farley’s autobiography he was the chief test pilot at Hawker then BAe for the Harrier, and he talks about testing different control laws for the JSF, in the early to mid 90’s.

Lindstrim, John Farley is hero of mine (sounds silly, but he is) I've watched just about everything about him on DVD, youtube etc...a very humble, very talented person. I will look him up on the old book depository..

I downloaded(and paid for it) CAP2 last night....and I've spent about 5 hours today going through it.
It's bloody magic.... it has, to me at least...that fun factor. As I mentioned on the steam site, it's not DCS, and it's not pretending to be.
Having been out for some time I don't know why I didn't pick it up before. This is an "it is what is" sim....simple if you want, and not so if that's what you want.

So refreshing to find something so unpretentious in these "must-have the ultimate" times.

I Will pop some screens up tomorrow as I'm still working through all the cameras etc.

The John Farley book is called "A view from the hover" if ..you have it, and have read it, and don't want it anymore ...I will give it a new home.
