MSFS CTD

MSFS has been crashing to desk top every time I select 'general settings' in options. As soon as I click it, it crashes to desktop. This has only happened since the previous update (not the latest) and continues in the latest update.

I've made a request in MSFS Zendesk but none of the solutions work.

Anybody else have this issue?

My son has same issue. It started after the Patch #2 install.

Yes same here from patch 2. Hopefully a further patch will fix it. A reinstall didn’t work for me

Try doing this...


You're missing the English (United States) Language Pack or it's corrupted.

Go to Language Settings > Speech > Manage Voice

If the English (United States) Language Pack is already installed
Select the voice package English (United States)
Click on Remove
Click on Add voices
In the search bar type "English"
Reinstall the English (United States) Language Pack


If the English (United States) Language Pack is not installed
Click on Add voices
In the search bar type "English"
Install the English (United States) Language Pack




If the problem persists after (re)installing the US language pack, remove and reinstall all the other language packs installed on the system.

The issue should be resolved after that.

Not sure how you get into Language settings if the only route is through the very (“options general”) screen that CTDs???

It’s the Windows 10 language settings not the setting in MSFS.

Can confirm it has worked for me! Thanks for the tip ... ..
...now just to fix the tall office blocks in towns ... although the next update should fix that hopefully.
