Hi Robin
Thanks for the shout out... I'm honoured and embarrassed at the same time...
Now the cat is out of the bag I guess I can finally reveal it. Yes I was the crazy person who pitched NZAA to Orbx, FlyTampa and Flightbeam some 3 years ago (can't believe it's been that long!!!). Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine that it would actually get picked up by a developer of Mir's calibre. Although for various reasons NZAA has not been made (yet), we are very lucky to be blessed with NZWN first as as a happy "coincidence". Personally I think it's as good as it can get within the current P3D limitation. I hope the locals would really get behind it and enjoy.
Having said all that I think you Mr Robin deserve the most credit. It is your devotion to virtual Aotearoa that inspired me in the first place so none of this would have happened without your pioneering. I also want to thank D'Andre of former DailyX for not laughing off my lofty ambition (of building an NZAA scenery). He was the one who told me to keep at it after he saw my Christchurch control tower. Of course thanks to Mir for not dismissing me as a spoiled brat who screams for his local airport to be built.
Anyway I'm just very relieved that I can speak openly about my involvement in NZAA here from now on. I (and Flightbeam) will certainly need a lot more help with Auckland as it would be 2-3 times more work than NZWN.
Can't wait to get cracking.
