Thanks Doug, perhaps something in objects has gone askew. I wonder if I have a wrong library or something. Most other scenery looks OK, but I will be looking very closely at screen shots etc from now on. See if I can spot the differences.

Les- your Karamea-2 shot shows you have trees to the north of the airfield and south of the estuary. You, Doug, and meself seem to be using the same mesh - you can see the 'ramp' to the higher ground the airfield sits on. That does not coincide exactly with your lack of trees, but I suspect there is a faulty flatten / exclude for the airfield area, which is excluding your trees. Really clutching at straws here
In the same vein, what season are you flying in? I'm thinking, if the bgl is calling trees with autumn textures, and the trees only have summer textures, they might not display.
Can't type anymore, hands full of straws
ATB, Mike.

'Propliner' is actually short for 'Proper airliner, with big rumbly radials'

Thanks guys, I'll have a look in the a.m. I did notice as mentioned different style of buildings. As I recall some of the buildings in Greymouth were a bright yellow in Dougs' shots, but mine were more subdued colourings. So maybe something else going on. I will try different seasons, - hadn't thought of that. It would have been autumn as settings usually to system time.

I guess I could try a vanilla install again and just put Karamea in or West coast only. That seems a bit extreme. I mean it is about the 4th time I have reloaded FSX last couple of weeks. But in the pursuit of perfection..... Nah, I'll wait a bit longer for now. see what turns up. If it is only Karamea I can live with it .

Those Greymouth yellow buildings are only visible if you have ORBX loaded

Thanks again Doug, I have checked Neils beach and Greymouth and both have less trees and it looks like different buildings.

I am thinking that perhaps with an orbx download there comes a different mix of static objects and FSX/VLC has the same descriptor for theh object, hence the alternate images in the bgl files.

Short of getting a hold of say orbx NZSI (which I assume includes a S.O.L.) there may be nothing to be done. If it is only about a few trees and different houses then I am OK. Just a niggle. Strange though.

Anyway I think we will call it quits trying to find the solution, and I appreciate everybodys' help.

It is nothing to do with ORBX it looks like you could have some FSX Autogen files missing.
Have a look and see if you have all the following files in your FSX Autogen folder
AutogenDescriptions.spb
AutogenDescriptions_Mid.spb
AutogenDescriptions_Min.spb
default.xml
Extrusions.spb
Materials.spb
RoofDescriptions.spb
TerrainAutogenClassDescriptions.spb

And in your FSX Autogen source xml folder
AutogenDescriptions.xml
AutogenDescriptions_Mid.xml
AutogenDescriptions_Min.xml
Extrusions.xml
Materials.xml
RoofDescriptions.xml
TerrainAutogenClassDescriptions.xml

Extrusions.spb

All above is accounted for in correct folder

AutogenDescriptions.xml
AutogenDescriptions_Mid.xml
AutogenDescriptions_Min.xml
Extrusions.xml
Materials.xml
RoofDescriptions.xml
TerrainAutogenClassDescriptions.xml

Is the Autogen source xml folder part of the SDK? (not loaded)

And if you mean VLC_Libraries/Autogen, then I only have
AutogenDescriptions.xml
Defaults.xml

Those two Autogen folders "Autogen" and "Autogen source xml" folders should be in your FSX as part of your FSX

No sorry, I only have 1 autogen folder. in my FSX deluxe acceleration edition.

Is it a sub folder?

I think there is an autogen folder in the SDK. I will install it.

OK the top one as stated that there is 100% in FSX directory. Thought I would need SDK, but won't upload it.

Got go out so will have another look tomorrow. Cheers

348 KB AutogenDescriptions.spb
287 KB AutogenDescriptions_Mid.spb
273 KB AutogenDescriptions_Min.spb
7,410 KB default.xml
152 KB Extrusions.spb
48 KB Materials.spb
54 KB RoofDescriptions.spb
15 KB TerrainAutogenClassDescriptions.spb

Hi Doug, All these are 2nd item in FSX folder. I am content to not worry about the discrepancy , it'll just give me something to think about in the middle of the night.

Hello Doug, Just thought I would let you know, I have solved the scenery problem at Karamea. As I had thought it was in fact the ORBX library that made the difference. - Now installed and All Happy here.

cheers
