That does make me want to have a bit of a spring clean... there's a plane working just outside my office window, can't quite make out what it is, but looks like an agwagon. I could take my Fletcher up the hill, I've done this before, there's a strip up above the next bay here, and one on the Hill Top over Akaroa way. However I have yet to land on the local strip, it's tricky...

Deane's fletcher certainly stands with today's top aircraft addons.

Hi All - glad you like the aircraft. Was meaning to get a post up about the release, but things got busy.

It's the old chestnut, Deane ...

Disadvantages:

1) Re-buying some of your add-ons (eg. CS or PMDG).
2) Clouds & water not as good as in FSX - though the new REX thang (imminent) might change all that.
3) Will live side-by-side with an existing FSX install, but re-installing/rebuilding from scratch can take a while.

Advantages:

1) Better terrain lighting.
2) More stable all round.
3) Better performance throughout. All the usual sliders can go one notch to the right.
4) Many developers are switching to P3D.
5) LM are continuing to improve P3D, whilst FSX is now a dead duck.

Having said all that ... I *love* P3D. I still have FSX/DX10+Fixer on the system, but I'm in P3D 99.9% of the time.

I was seriously VERY lucky to have two wise men ... Not Christmas Yet so was only two .. who through me should have the package YELLING Take It .. course the dynamic duo Greg and Marty, I still live on FSX .. so many great freeware aircraft , I have not tried to put Deane's Fletcher in yet , so much to see course the interface is very different but the same.

Interestingly (to me!) I quite like the water in P3D - maybe I was expecting something really bad from all the comments :-) - however, the clouds really do annoy me at times. I guess it all depends on the user to some extent, but like you, the advantages outweigh the disadvantages for me.

You in saying that, the 'Deltasim KGV' plopped into the water, I'll have to install again into FSX to get the ocean effect textures so this is an area which is going interest me and how dynamic and better it is to FSX .
