FSUIPC help

Postby Bon62 » Sun Oct 02, 2016 5:42 pm

I have been trying to improve my experience with my FS 9, but have not been able to get add-ons to go where they suppose to.
I have successfully installed the PMDG 737, though a few years ago. I paid for the fsuipc registration way back then, but it never installed.
Today, I downloaded the latest fsuipc for FS 9, paid for the registration again. I managed to get it registered, so it said, but when I loaded my PMDG 737 and checked the fsuipc there, it said it's not registered.
I don't have a clue where to find what's gone wrong, I am not computer literate as in searching in files somewhere, I did this once and wiped out my whole operating system, which a friend took 10 hours to re-install.
I have World Environment Extreme to install plus other add-ons, but now too over cautious, Once bitten, twice shy.
I live in Pukekohe, if anyone is close and would like to help me get the best out of this flight simulator to enjoy, I'm sure we could shout you a great lunch for your efforts. I used to fly, but now grounded for medical reasons. Flight Simulator experience, real motion DC-10, Boeing 747 and 767.
Could do with some help, thanks.

Hey Bon. Sorry to hear your having trouble. Just out of interest, do you NEED a registered copy of fsuipc? Good to support the developer of course but unless you have some tricky hardware or other s/w addons that require a registered copy you should be good to go without it being registered.

I read that having a registered copy would be of help with yoke settings and some functions of the aircraft. I did this as flying the PMDG 737 before, sometimes on landing, with spoilers "armed' in the cockpit, they didn't deploy on landing. I just want things to work as they are supposed to, this is my only option I can think of to get this rectified.

deeknow, also I had problems getting the throttle on my joystick to calibrate for the 737. I tried everything, on take off, could only advance the throttle 1/2 an inch and it would spool to 100%. In the end I gave up trying to land using own power settings, had to use auto throttle right down to the runway and then hit # 1 on the keyboard to cut power. That's another reason I paid for registration, in hope to get something going as it should.

Just reinstall FSUIPC, make sure it's the latest version which you have presumably already downloaded. When the opening screen pops up it gives you 3 options, one of which is Enter New Registration. Choose that and enter the registration info you got when you purchased FSUIPC. That should be it.

If this doesn't work then try running the install as administrator by right clicking on the 'install FSUPIC4.exe' and chose 'run as administrator'

Thank you scaber, I have tried once again, it installed so it says
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator\9.0
Parameter"EXE Path"
... >>> OK! FOUND FS9! <<< ...
===========================================================

INSTALLATION FOR FS9:
EXE Path="C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9"
Checking if there's already a version of FSUIPC installed in:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9\Modules\FSUIPC.DLL
... Version 3.999z found.
Okay -- installed FSUIPC into "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9\Modules\FSUIPC.DLL"
"Modules\FSUIPC Documents" folder already exists.
Now installing additional files into the "Modules\FSUIPC Documents" folder:
Installed "FSUIPC User Guide.pdf" okay
Installed "FSUIPC for Advanced Users.pdf" okay
Installed "FSUIPC History.pdf" okay
Installed "List of FS2004 controls.pdf" okay
Installed "FSUIPC Lua Library.pdf" okay
Installed "FSUIPC Lua Plug-Ins.pdf" okay
Installed "Lua License.pdf" okay
Installed "Lua Plugins for VRInsight Devices.pdf" okay
Installed "LuaFileSystem.pdf" okay
Installed "Example LUA plugins.zip" okay
Installed "SIMSAMURAI+FSUIPC+TUTORIAL.pdf" okay
Installed "FSUIPC for Programmers.pdf" okay

Now, I can't find that folder, anywhere. I have entered the key and it said confirm, when I confirm, nothing.
God help me when I want to download and install the latest AIRAC

It is still not showing in as registered in the flight Sim.
This is why I need someone who can get to this machine and knows where to look and where to put it.
It's got me down.

Bon,
Here is where you will find FSUIPC files:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9\Modules\

Delete the 5 files starting with FSUIPC and this should remove any traces of your old installs.
Now reinstall FSUIPC and see what happens.
See how you get on and let us know.

Thanks for that. I did that, deleted FSUIPC from MODULES file, now the Flight Simulator won't start at all.
The " C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9\MODULES\CONTROLS DLL "File is missing or damaged. Please reinstall Flight Simulator to restore or repair the file. Flight Simulator will now quit.

That's all I needed like a hole in the head. I mentioned at the beginning I am not a computer wizard, I now haven't the confidence to uninstall or re install, as I had to pay a guy to put it in along with my NZ scenery before. All that would happen now, my operating system will go again.
If anyone would like to help, I could sure do with some, you can ring me on 021 1020596
Thanks for your time.

Nothing Ian, have to wait now until the end of the month, trying to get a professional computer person to uninstall and then reinstall to correct areas.

Still early days Stephen, sure one must be close by, after all Auckland is huge, be good to see a NZFF Simmer in there to help .. many train from Ardmore , If you get a Tech'y, they won't be able to help unless they are into Flight Simulation , .. If you were here in Christchurch .. Swam's would be incoming. B-)

Hi Bon,
Sorry to hear you have gotten into a hole. It looks like you have inadvertently deleted a file by mistake.
Send me a PM message with your email address(dont list your address here) and will send the file to put
back in your Modules folder and hopefully restore you to a working Fsim again.

Many thanks Les, for all your help, time and advice. Without this help I would not have this now registered. It was the Windows 7 security settings and I am very grateful that you could talk me through the minefield. Very much appreciated.
