Cheers, guys. Yes, the fix did put this back the way it was, following a bit of an outcry, although developers are on notice that at some stage this will stop working for good. This will be a good thing, I guess, but it's great to have a bit of notice, rather than just have support for ground polys switched off.
All future Godzone/Real NZ releases will have separate P3D and FSX versions of ground polys, there are plenty of nice features available for P3D, think back to Che's screenshots showing reflections/lighting effects on tarmac etc.
However there are some issues for developers like me, I have mainly used GMAX from day one, and this is no longer supported for P3D, and my 3DS Max subscription is normally the first thing to go when times are tough -- which is about 10 months of the year...
Of course there is Arno's Model Conversion tool, which can deal with the conversion, albeit with a bit of extra work, so I can keep moving forward, and at some stage I hope to shift fully to 3DS Max.
