So, who's going to be first with the Nvidia 1080?

These are meant to be shipping from Mighty Ape this coming week. No, I don't have my order in, as I'm not made of money -- yet. NZ$1395, certainly a bargain for the best GPU available.

It might be a bargain price, I wouldn't know - but I don't have a computer with a CPU big enuff to feed it.

'Propliner' is actually short for 'Proper airliner, with big rumbly radials'

From my reading there isn't really much of a step up from the 980.
It seems to be more of a GPU for the VR headsets.
I'm happy with my Titan for now.

Its a funny old do.... ....

..when the press tells us that the big box computer, as we know it; Tower and Desktop, is becoming obsolete, and replaced with; "Laptops", etc....

...so it seems strange (to me) that nVidia, etc, are still developing very expensive GPU's designed for use in our/my big box computers?.... :o ...!

Paul....Big box enthusiast!.... :D ...!

Yeah, I'm sure it sings and dances with VR, but probably no advantage for simmers. Now the 1070, on the other hand, that would be worth looking at for the right price...

I'd get a 1070 instead I think. Probably no need for the top of the line.

Hmm, it has been 5 years since my last upgrade. About time I think...

Steve, I didn't know you had a Titan. What CPU have you got?

Here's a Guy that took out 980's and put in 1080's.

Interesting review ,, from plugging the cards in right thru to first impressions with P3D.

Out of my league I'm afraid ,, I'll just stick with my 550's :(

A 4770K overclocked with water. I didn't get a particularly outstanding overclock...just 4.4 ghz. Luck of the draw.
It pretty much meets most of my needs.
