Frenchvfr.free Alouette III

Postby nzkingair » Tue Nov 17, 2015 4:05 pm

I have tried to download this for the last fortnight or so. Just cannot logon or join the site. I know from the forums that hundreds of simmers have the same problem, but never the less over 3000 downloads have been successful. Would really like to have it as the reports are terrific. Has anyone here got a successful download that would be prepared to email me the zip file? It is stated on the website that it is totally freeware and can be shared amongst simmers.

Regards
to all,
Warren.

Thanks. http://frenchvfr.free.fr -- I have only been able to get onto the site through a Google search, and although I can view all the web pages the download and signup links just go into endless loops. Really appreciate you having a try for me.
Regards. Warren

It is also on the RFN website:
http://royalefrenchnavy.perso.sfr.fr/

The yellow news headline has a link to their Helicoptere Embarque list in the Avions section.

Thank you for the hint on this nice version of the Alouette III.

I have tried to download the file only to find out that you have to be registered on the site in order to be authorized to download their files. OK; so I did that... However, that was not enough, because now in addition I have to receive an ID and password to give me access to their files... A tough procedure.

Unfortunately the French are not equally restrictive when it comes to their domestic immigrant problems, which in the end led to the Paris shootings. My thoughts go to the victims and their friends and families....

But the good news is that the link given by efrat above works just fine. This is the direct link to the helicopter file:
Just click on the Alouette III in yellow and the download starts..... :D

Edit one day later:
the webmaster replied to ma messate and let me feel stupid again... In the window where you can initiate the download the needed ID and password are given in RED letters! They are unique for each file.
Sometimes reading all just helps

Well, I just took it for a quick test flight. I haven't flown a Llama or an Alouette but I've flown the Squirrel. I'm actually really impressed. The turbine modelling is actually surprisingly accurate. You start the engine and then start the blades turning separately. The sounds are about right, probably a little less shrill than it should be though. It flies like its got hydraulics ie: requires finesse. The 3d modelling is about as good as I've seen on a helicopter. The only thing that lets it down is the internal textures and the fact that everything is in French. I managed to work out what most things do but having the cockpit in English would be nice.

Hi Mike, Thanks for putting the link up for me. I uploaded the translation to Flightsim last night and there has already been 85 downloads. A couple of questions -- Do you have the Alouette, and have you installed the translation? I would be interested in any comments or bugs.

Thanks
Warren.

Cheers, Warren - didn't realise it was yours. I don't do helicopters, even radial engined ones  but I know there are a few fans here who will be interested.
