It sorta reminded me off a couple programs well over 18 years back Fly I and Fly II , they never really got off the starting blocks because peoples PCs simply could not handle it .. be interesting to see what they are like on today's machines .. I simply gave the programs away.

It seems like a long-shot, I'd certainly like to see this in my lifetime, but I think it will take a huge investment before it becomes a usable product.
Some of the stuff on their website looks very gamesy, but the Unigine and GeoGlyph sites have some mind-blowing stuff -- especially Unigine, where the intro images on their site are about the best renders I've ever seen in what is meant to be a real-time engine.

Some of the GeoGlyph stuff shows some scenery which would make New Zealand amazing. I'm sure that one day we'll have something like this in our sim, but I will have to take more care of myself, and see if I can survive another decade or two...

Yeah, seems like an ambitious project but then the world is well overdue a *decent* sim replacement for FSX, one that taps into graphics card potential rather than CPU limitations.
If they get it off the ground it will indeed be interesting!

The graphics look good I wonder if they could make a mod for terrain to be added like that to DCS or to upgrade Prepare3ds graphics?

I don't think they will bounce together , that is what happened with 'Fly' programs FS98 square block clouds were as 'Fly' the puffy fluffy stuff FS2000 then had the puffy fluffy stuff so you don't know who is working behind the scenes ...

I've still got my original box of; "Fly II"....(2001).... :D ...!

I couldn't run them on my old (slow) PC at the time, so I must give it another try on my present super-computer!

I've still got ALL the computer games, (and computers) I ever bought, since late 1970.... :) ...!

Some of the older sims you can still play there are mods that make them work and some are now free you could check at SIMHQ and ask there as a lot of people on SIMHQ still use some of these older sims.

All the news seems to be about one new sim or another at the moment. Dovetail better do something great to keep FSX on top, otherwise I wouldn't want to guess what will be the sim of choice in three years. Prepar3D is still my favourite, but the way it is marketed and sold counts against it as the 'retail' sim of choice.

So that leaves it open for some new ideas, like NexGen. Even Xplane is still in with a chance, looking at some of the work being done on that at the moment.
