Today in NZ aviation history, 10 Sep 1985

The first new Boeing 767-219ER, ZK-NBA "Aotearoa", arrives in Wellington via Nadi. It was handed over to the airline on September 3.
The flight between Everett Field in Seattle and Nadi was the longest flight by a General Electric powered Boeing 767. The aircraft has 18 Pacific Class and 202 economy class seats.

Here she is in the original livery after arriving at Wellington-International after the delivery flight. ZK-NBA was the first of eight of the type purchased.







And she’s still flying too. NBA was converted to a freighter around 10 years ago and is now with Danish cargo airline – STAR AIR!
Here she is landing at East Midlands Airport in July!

I still recall the day the 767 first started to play around Christchurch International , doing touch and go's on 11/29 then across the city , that was a sight and went on for three days , Its amazing how time really fly's < without the pun .

Yes CHC was used quite a bit for training being a first in type and the requirement to get the initial standards and training crew crew trained up.
You could imagine the confusion on those first few flights being the first glass/FMS aircraft that flight crew would have experienced.
I believe the common expression on the flight deck for a few years was "WTH's it doing now?"

That is quite funny really how far things have come .. Its so second nature today with the button pushing and home simulators.

It those memories that, in the years to come I think is were I got my aviation injection from X3 so I was told .. never got around to driving them.

Yes a nice honest paint scheme that really suited the 767...especially the 200.

I am very surprised that it has not been done, I do have the Level-D but gawd last time on the PC is what decade is this, I did have an install issue with it and never followed up on it , Course the Old Captain Sim come out with there version .. just 'shrugged my shoulders' and thought later .
