A little trick I did and it worked, sometimes even the FSX DVD 1 dose not want to install, what I did was leave the DVD in the PC, I then shut the PC down , on turning on again I went to the DVD drive , explored it to the install exe. file and away it went , I have done the same with the Disk2 , sounds bloody stupid but it worked.

Hi Ian
Thought it was going to work. This time it got to the almost the end of the setup on disc 2 when I got the message come up.
I did get FSX to install fully in program (86x) so I thought I would uninstall and try back in the other directory I wanted to use. I used the link you gave me and used the uninstall option which removed Flightsim x from the list then tried to install again and as stated got to the end of the disc 2 then bugger

Hi Rhys

If you've managed to installed FSX again and then uninstalled again and want to do another fresh FSX install further again in a different directory path location.

You will need to clean up your PC registry entries for FSX.

Recommend you download and install the free FSX Registry Utility from TweakFS Store.

http://www.tweakfs.com/store/free_tools.php

Once installed run the utility to clean up your PC registry

Having done this you can then re-try doing another FSX install to the directory location of your choice.

Have you considered abandoning FSX and stumping up for a $50 copy of P3D v2 Academic? I know its not particularly helpful for your problem but after 2+ years in the wilderness I thought I'd have a look what all the fuss is about and won't be looking back. The only disappointing factor is very few of my payware FSX products and none of my FS9 titles will work with it. Something to consider at least if you can't get FSX up and running anyway.

I also have FSX - STEAM on standby/backup only and simply because I have ten years of superb payware addons , I'm still to install and compare the difference .
