My mouse is possesed

Postby Splitpin » Wed Mar 18, 2015 7:13 pm

 im having real trouble controlling my mouse .... its a wireless microsoft job ... batteries are fine , the little thing that plugs into the puter is close by .
Sometimes it actually move on its own ... the cursor ... not the mouse ....
If you have ever seen remote access being used ... its like that .... :ph43r: flying around clicking on stuff :ph43r:

May have to call a priest ;)

Have you tried disconnected and reconnecting it? Is there special software that comes with it?

If it's the 2.4GHz band...have you got new/moved things on the same range E.g. cordless phones, wireless devices/routers.

When you say it's clicking on stuff.... could it be a remote connection? Try disconnecting from the network and see if it still happens to rule that out.

Check underneath , there is a little optical sensor that at times picks up a little dust , little movement , slight vibration - even a car driving past or the even the wind blowing will cause the cursor to move.

I have an optical (laser) wireless mouse, and very occasionally it'll seem possessed too. It's always due to some little hair or dust particle that decided to make its way next to the laser's output point.

One thing I did return to was a simple mouse connected via wire .. Marty you viewed the next artwork incoming , It really pisssed me of when the batteries died in the middle of a edit .. I went out and brought a $10.70 mouse with a tail .. still have the cordless but optical tail mouse is more accurate.

All sorted ..... thanks team .
Was a combo ... of a cat hair !! inside the optical bit , where the blue light is , and a mouse pad that needed a clean.
How the hell did a cat hair get in my mouse's eye

I have control again :)
