FSX Textures decayed, help needed ~~SOLVED~~

Postby omitchell » Sat Feb 28, 2015 2:24 pm

Ok guys I need some serious help. The other day in FSX my screen suddenly flickered and in an instant almost all textures for buildings, boats, and in some cases aircraft panels screwed up and went blurry (Including addon scenery and aircraft). I tried everything I could think of and had no result so I just did a complete uninstall and reinstall of FSX from scratch and they are still the same. P#D is unaffected so it is something directly relating to FSX and I need some serious help, it's my prime sim and it is basically unusable.

So far have uninstalled and reinstalled FSX, have updated NVidia Inspector settings, have reinstalled the DX10 scenery library and updated the files, nothing is working. (See attached)

This is without any FXT Global .. or any other .. default only, was all your scenery still installed so as simply to return and re-install default or did you completely wipe everything completely from your whats going to be new FSX folder ? .. You have clean the HD , all the stuff you know, then even before re-install such the lot down for least an hour ... over night even works better.

This is the fresh reinstall with NO addons installed at this point apart from the DX10 libraries. Clean folder, clean registry entries.

I had thought about that but Star Trek Online, Euro Truck 2 and P3D are all running perfectly but I'll give it a shot anyways

EDIT: No difference, issue remains

This is a historical thing with FSX just recent, and believe its all , well me at least the amount off addons installed, take a number out - defrag and away it go's again, this is mainly with the aircraft libraries and think its a conflict with download installers from the many payware addons , once installed many on top off my Virtavia Skyhawk a register error message returns , yet if I have a clean HD and put the A4 in the error dose not appear.

Scenery tho is very stable, so I wonder if it is a conflict between having so many payware aircraft course today with these payware beta's could also add extra, I don't know there.

Makes sense but doesn't explain the above images which is a clean install with NO addons...

Yeah, I Know, the thing is you really have to almost scrub the FSX clean, one other thing I did was save the default texture file to the laptop for safety and that has fixed many issues that appear, the laptop file are the original FSX default textures , only recently used them to fix effects , simply I plonked and placed in the right folder and everything come right .. and that was with effect payware addons.

I'm very sure that will not work, I guessing and sure a virgin FSX texture file will be required - these would be pre SP1/2.

You tried the shut down, I recall 'lowglow' had similar issue couple years back, he had to revert to that , another FSX install but make sure there is nothing left in the directory but also nothing related to FSX on the PC .. basically you are still running a hot PC with FSX problems and PCs remember , ...

.. one other thing a default install .. how many times have you tried to install over the top again and again, that also works .

I removed FSX last night, including the folders and all registry entries and cleaned the system cache, so it was off the drive all night.

Here ya go Ian... As I mentioned in my original post, it affects addon scenery as well and even addon aircraft panels. It's EVERY texture for buildings, planes and boats so far that I have seen worldwide...

Only FSX is affected, no other game is affected.
