Anybody got Tim Barnes excellent Whakatane working in NZNI Orbx? I've had a go but I dips and troughs around the runway and taxiways with the scenery at a lower level than the runway...possibly an AFCAD issue? Disabling all the Orbx NZWK BGL files hasn't resolved the issue.

Hi Paul have you disabled the ADE_FTX_NZNI_NZWK_elevation_adjustment from the world scenery

I could have a quick tinker around with that, should not take to long , flat as a pancake out there.

Its just plain strange how the ORBX dictates the elevations - NZ API has it and Tim followed at the 20 ELEV .. go to the Big O and its ELEV is 35 ft .. I'm sure it was the oceans rising and not the airports , anyway got a quick flatten here, took me a while to find my Whakatane airport .. I still need to extend the flatten and check but everything is back down to the correct levels and sitting correct.

It works a charm in VLC and that's why I have ditched ORBX NI and SI. I just don't need the grief every time I try and install an airport.
Remember the 50-50-90 rule. Anytime you have a 50-50 chance of getting something right, there's a 90% probability you'll get it wrong!

One thing I instantly picked up on was flying over Canterbury in the Big O it really suited the part , simply why did and was it dictated to bunch off people who are designing or building and are the REAL McCoy been there done that pilots like yourself that suddenly the country of New Zealand is raised 15Ft in most places ? .... I was good a Geography at school ... sure the country did not change that quickly ... even after the earthquakes ... we have not had a good Volcano yet unsure.gif
