Southern Lakes and Supercity price reduction

As the Subscription scenery has reached Wanaka, I've relegated the existing Southern Lakes Adventure to the bargain bin, at just $5. And to keep it company, Supercity is now only $5 as well. Normally I'd make these older products freeware when they get an update, but both of these are larger than the current Avsim upload size of 500MB, so they won't become freeware until this limit is increased.

There's also been a slight reduction in the price of the two compilations which include these.
By the way, the Subscription will include Wanaka Airport, to match the new photo scenery, and will eventually extend to Tekapo Airport, so if you are contemplating a Subscription, then you won't need Southern Lakes Adventure.

Any minute. Yes, it is a week late, but I've got there in the end.
It took 4 and a bit hours to upload today, and it is a bit bigger than usual, at 1.4GB.

Just d/loaded it - given the time of day, the traffic, and as like as not G20 surveillance, it came in quite smartly.

Yes, I'm pleased with the Amazon Cloud delivery. Of course uploads are severely limited by my DSL connection. I really do need to look at VDSL, though, but I can't really justify any extra cost at the moment. Once the Subscription starts paying for itself, this will be a priority.

Cheers, guys. I've been trying to make a 'release' video, using the Alabeo Extra 300, which comes default with P3D, but first I need to sort out a decent landing. At the moment I'm doing a 'Philae' most of the time, but I am getting the hang of it -- so far the best bet is to come out of a slow stall just before the runway, then cut the engine just on touchdown. Not elegant, but hey, I do this for fun.

I'm in the airshow mode at the MO .. from the flights tutorial section, now I wonder if everyone saves a flight say call it '1' with that scenery installed wonder if we could get a MP running at the airshow venue ?.... maybe something to look at this weekend cool.gif

Yes, I've only just got around to testing the airshow mission, and it certainly works ok -- nothing obviously out of place, except the fencelines. I did include the Airshow library in the Subscription just so this would still work for those who have Southern Lakes (since the Sub switches the old RealNZwanaka off), but at the moment it isn't easy to get the scenery outside the mission. I will do something with this at some stage. Maybe just a scenery placement addon file which you can drop into the scenery folder.

From memory the Airshow mission can use any aircraft, but the mission format is a bit of a nuisance.

There are also a couple of old ARNZ races at Wanaka, but I'd need to install those on my new system to check them out. If they work ok, then that's another tick off my list. I remember being hopeless at these, but on my new system, and using the Alabeo rather than default Extra, I might be able to survive a race!

I'm way behind the 8 ball. Ive only just downloaded Wellington. Too many other things competing with my time. Although having said that, "She who must be obeyed" is away for a week so there is scope for some play time and to put a few more hours testing into the iFly 747 release candidate.
It will be out very soon and it's a goody.

Remember the 50-50-90 rule. Anytime you have a 50-50 chance of getting something right, there's a 90% probability you'll get it wrong!

Start the tutorial then save the flight, making the scenery active if everyone did that, then if I stated a MP as the default flight , I'm sure it should work.? ... Have to try that some time

No, it won't work, because saving the flight doesn't save the object placement. I'll just move some stuff around today, compile the Mission XML as a scenery file, and upload it here. At the moment it puts some AI aircraft inside tents etc dry.gif

Ok that all cool, ... BUT.. , in MPs AI do not show up ... static aircraft sit in the tents but thats about it ... .. they did that at many off the shows .. Running a MP at the MO , this is were I thought the real test is if had the airshow scenery saved as their default flight - all people joining choose there aircraft on entry ... that would be the true test cool.gif
