Software to hide unwanted models in aircraft menu

The place to ask for help or solve each others technical issues and discuss hardware

Postby Sonnyj » Sat Oct 11, 2014 3:35 pm

Help...I had some software and now it is lost (HDD crash). I know that if I rename the paned folder it will hide the aircraft in the selection screen but!!!

I had some software that did the job with a click in a click box after displaying the said aircraft. I can't remember the name of the software. Darn . Anybody help??

Cheers

Not if you do it at the first level, I drag them all here SimObjects\Airplanes\Unused

This was and one thing I was discussing with Greg , a 'Hanger manage' specifically since I'm always installing and creating new scenery every week or so and adding aircraft which really must cause and it dose cause conflict and problems .. and really is there a program that Les is looking for and highly recommend ?

I remember an FS2004 freeware which would look at all the planes in your hangar (or a range of them - you could specify it by MTOW, I think) and create AI versions of them, by stripping out all the stuff you don't need in AI. It also had an option to change a flag from visible to invisible, so that they did not appear as flyable aircraft. Something like visible=0, to visible=1, or vice versa, probly in the aircraft config, or mebbe the model cfg.
I used it in my old VFR setup, and it worked, but I had to do quite a lot of tweaking to get rid of crazy ATC demands like "Tiger Moth 1232, please expedite your climb to 35000' " , so I eventually dumped it.

'Propliner' is actually short for 'Proper airliner, with big rumbly radials'

the one I had listed all the aircraft in sim objects, airplanes, showed thumbnails of them and had a click box next to the picture, show or not show in the select aircraft menu option. - fantastic tool. I'll keep looking.

Thanks emfrat but ... As I recall it was titled (the software that is) was the blokes name who invented/wrote it. Seemed to have one use not multiple uses.

Am on my laptop at present so will check it out tomorrow, just in case it is the one. smile.gif
