Great photos James , the AN-2 .. funny no one wanted to buy to fly, that Lodestar that was also running , think may have been the 1994 Wanaka Warbird but it was not allowed to fly, no certificated .

The 21 , wonder if that was the same one floating around the country for a while, course there was a Canberra as a gate guardian and a Centurion battle tank.

The ole Macci looks worst foe wear !

i couldn't get over how big the an-2 is its a behemoth of a thing for a single engine! and yea its a real shame it's not flying along with the lodestar I was talking with the guy who runs the museum who let me into the f27 cockpit and hes really keen to get his hands on some more air nz aircraft but they need more funding

We, me and Greg were at the Wigram Museum yesterday and since the EQ's the hanger are just as chocker as its the only place to store the Canterbury and Lyttleton museum items .. least they have a larger base and reason to continuous build and extensions .

Hard to believe that Fokker was my office for a few years! I couldn't believe what struck me when I did my first famil flight. It was AA to TG at night in a 100 series. It was not a flash night with BC's "lurking with intent" (as Jim Hickey would put it) over the Kaimai ranges. With the wrought iron contol column, the red flood lit panel, the noise and the flashes of lightning it reminded me of what it must have been like in a Lancaster over Germany on a night bombing run!
Remember the 50-50-90 rule. Anytime you have a 50-50 chance of getting something right, there's a 90% probability you'll get it wrong!

Unmistakable - I forget what GM-UK called their Bedford 30cwt Van, but I am sure you all remember the Bedford Dormobile, ancestor of all today's campervans smile.gif

'Propliner' is actually short for 'Proper airliner, with big rumbly radials'
