Yoke is where it normally is, in front of me.
Pedals, easy to find,
Flaps and switches panels I have not too hard, just had to learn where they are, they are at arm distance so not too bad. Currently P3d has a hack to get working so natively should be much better to navigate the menus. Hard to explain much more. Basically, at the mo, just flying seat of my pants. Pretty cool though.--------------------------------------

I'm looking forward to having a go next time I'm over!
Just finished downloading the full build of 2.4 so hopefully will have it installed and running before I turn in tonight (it's after midnight here). I always do a clean install just to be sure everything is fully up to date. Have been hugely impressed by 2.3 so looking forward to the promised improvements 2.4 will bring.Adrian Petford

And what about your beer? They'll have to sort that out before I buy this.AdrianPetford wrote:QUOTE (AdrianPetford @ Sep 30 2014,12:31 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Just finished downloading the full build of 2.4 so hopefully will have it installed and running before I turn in tonight (it's after midnight here). Hmm, I might reinstall one day, but as always I'm doing the update only -- at least until I can afford to upgrade my internet.
P.S. I've never reinstalled FSX either, I don't want to tempt fate!

Maybe one way around that , can it be d/loaded , from me say and get it send across? surely someone could send an update on memory stick?

You place it on the seat behind you and attach it to your mouth with a long strawLast edited by dbcunnz on Tue Sep 30, 2014 1:36 pm, edited 1 time in total.

No worries, I've been demoing the Rift to a few people and I'm getting positive feedback, and this is only a dev kit. Who knows I might have the consumer version before you get here.
Good thing about 2.4 is that it has native support via the sdk for the DK2.
It really is an awesome experience. You really get that sensation you're in a cockpit.
I just use a straw for my liquids, lol.--------------------------------------

Yeah there are some querks, not bad, but it will be much more of a WOW moment when you experience VR without the screen door effects and a better solution to remove VR sickness through locomotion.
Besides, you may only be waiting another 12 months (or less) by the sounds of the development process.--------------------------------------

If I'm ever up that way, with spare time (ha!), I might just look you up :-)--

If only... I'll need to teach a lot more classes this year to be able to afford another trip, but that said I do have significantly more work lined up so fingers crossed, we'll see. Would love to go behind the scenes at Wigram again!toprob wrote:QUOTE (toprob @ Sep 30 2014,12:51 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>And what about your beer? They'll have to sort that out before I buy this.![]()

Ironically, I had problems with the full install (popping autogen everywhere for some reason) so ended up rolling bach to 2.3 and installing the patch!
Very impressed so far. Can't wait to try your new Wellington on it.![]()

Will definitely be interesting to give it a try. I can see many hours of fun ahead on my next visit!

I'm sure Barf would get into further places now, rather the week planning .. go the other way and have it organize to really kick the tires on the aircraft.
