transferring fsx scenery to prepar3d

An area to discuss scenery addons for virtual NZ

Hey guys have just downloaded p3dV2 and migration tool and am wondering whether the tool will transfer my scenery from fsx effortlessly or are there things I need to know first? I have VLC, NZSI, NZNI, all the subscription scenery to date + Auckland Nelson and Southern lakes

VLC, Real NZ Nelson, Real NZ Supercity, and the Godzone Subscription scenery have P3D installers, so I'd recommend that you use these rather than a migration tool. Southern Lakes will require the migration tool, though.

Thanks Rob, how does one transfer the scenery to prepar? or do I have to re-download all the scenery and put it straight in there. Sorry I'm not very technical :-)

Just run the installer, if you have FSX and Prepar3D installed the installer will allow you to choose between them. Just click on 'Prepar3D' and install as normal.
If the installer doesn't give you the choice, then you may need to download the latest version -- just contact me via the Godzone Store if you need any downloads reactivated.
The Subscription has dual installers, so these should be ready to go.

I think there's a dual installer available now for NZSI, but not yet for NZNI. Orbx don't recommend that you use a migration tool.

Just be aware that not all FSX scenery will appear in P3D. FS9 objects that appear in FSX will not appear in P3D unfortunately. A lot of Snowmans sceneries will be missing the odd object/building etc.
Remember the 50-50-90 rule. Anytime you have a 50-50 chance of getting something right, there's a 90% probability you'll get it wrong!
