Paul you are missing out mate, you need to look at your flight sim config if that's the case. Having just spent a couple of days flying around Robin's photoreal + autogen subscription stuff this week I am now a convert, it's absolutely stunning, can't believe how cool it is especially at low levels. Even the wife agreed and that's saying somethingLast edited by deeknow on Wed Sep 03, 2014 12:35 am, edited 1 time in total.Deans repaints: http://www.deeknow.com/

Hello Dean........
Over in our forum plot, photo-scenery from the likes of "Blue Sky Scenery", etc, is very popular, and looks quite impressive from screen shots taken from great height, but anywhere near, or on the ground, results in the expected flat, tree-less, building-less, photograph effect!
Most. if not all, of my General Aviation, daily flights occur on the ground and at heights of 500-1000 feet AGL amongst 3D objects, buildings, vegetation, etc, as in real life!
I don't really see that happening in Photographic Scenery screen shots.
Grand Canyon, etc, looks fine from a height of 30,00 feet AGL, but at, or very near ground level is always very disappointing for me in my little Cessna 150, Microlights, and Gyroplanes, usually chasing butterflies through the tree-tops!!
I think that my very/extremely low level flying mostly precludes Photographic Scenery, in general.......1
I've yet to be convinced.......!
Paul...butterfly chaser extraordinaire......!

It is handy having a close net community were we can check or compares each others setup, I have had two very powerful and expensive graphic cards go on me (they had three year warranty's but died 20 months then 15 months) , least you have the warrenty, the biggest thing is pointing out to the PC builders that MS-Flight sim is a huge user.
You showing the screen, exactly what the, my first card showed , nothing was sharp, everything lost its detail , did you have someone close by who is into FS and would able to look at machine ?Last edited by Ian Warren on Wed Sep 03, 2014 10:26 am, edited 1 time in total.

I think I've said this before -- photoscenery doesn't have to mean 'flat' scenery. Sure, it's a bit trickier to autogen photoscenery, but that doesn't preclude it. Here's a preview of the Subscription Wellington -- plenty of stuff to crash into down low...

I'm going to put my original cfg file back into FSX and restore my catalyst centre back to default and see what happens, if not much then its back to the shop
You would find its not the person who put your system together, Its simply the hardware, I had a brand new PC that lasted a week and simply POP ! the MOBO went and the graphics card .... this was from an outfit called PC Unlimited , that would be around the same time they got caught selling shoddy PC parts , I now go to my trusted shop and even then cards go POP ... good with Calder Electronics is they have it fix .. almost in hours .. may cost a little but my computers here are also tools so they are a primary .
