As long as I am available, I'm in, probably with P3D v2.3 by that stage...

How about a C130 flight this saturday? From Mount Cook to queenstown, then go from there? Just to test who can do what and fix any problems for the september flight

The Herc would be a good choice, Saturday we could also try that, I maybe a little busy then the day open up for the possible go.

Dunno, I was going to look at the FSclient if FShost is being used.
I've downloaded v2.3 but until FSUIPC is fixed I won't be doing the re-install.
Yes, I will full install, rather than patch. Start clean. Again.
(yes, I know there is an FSUIPC beta but I'll wait for the official release)

Be worth trying all avenues, so many conflicts at the mo , one big thing is simply getting people to try it out.

Perhaps NZFF could look into a dedicated server for NZ again?

At one time we had a free, 24/7, dedicated FS Host Server for the NZ, etc, Flights.....INSpire...>>> https://www.inspire.net.nz/help/general.html

The IP Address was 203.114.130.15
It worked very well for our Multiplayer activities!.
One we regularly used. (Sean will remember it).

It has since disappeared from the FS Host list for some reason....>>>> http://www.chocolatesoftware.com/fshostspy/

I also believe it would be worthwhile for NZFF to consider reintroducing a dedicated server. It disappeared due to lack of use over the years, but I think this resurgence in interest could be a cause for consideration.
I could see it being worthwhile as long as it is used regularly.

I'm not sure NZFF had a dedicated server, over the years it has always be run by myself , old days Gamespy was easy , what are the options , Digitaltheme park type setup ? and is there a cost ?

People say they will join and simply don't turn up, still to try FShost again or something along those line but it would have to run as smooth as the DC-3 flight weeks back which seem the most practical use currently.

Unfortunately the FSHost connection will never be that smooth, just due to the nature of how the FSHost system works. From my understanding after reading up about it on various forums and how the internals of FS multiplayer work, it is literally impossible for an FSHost type of connection to be smooth enough for close formation flying.

The main benefit of using it is so people with other simulator versions can join in as well.

Without the availability of a 24-hour, 7-day a week, 365 days a year, dedicated NZFF Server, (and without using 24/7 FS Host Servers), I suspect that a group Multiplayer session available for use at any time, will be dead in the water.

The NZFF Server's IP Address should MUST be available for Members to connect to at any time, at short/instant notice, for a solo or group flight, the same as it does with the various FS Host Servers.

A private Servers own home IP Address is not really satisfactory, as it is not always available when required, and is liable to disconnection at any time.

What we really need is a dedicated NZFF Server's computer and its IP address available for use at any time, by any member, (with or without a password).
(This is what INSpire provided for us, before it was discontinued.... https://www.inspire.net.nz/help/general.html )

At the moment, I know that I can connect to any of the FS Host Servers, from the list, at any time, day or night, because they are always on-line, and join in with others if required.
That's the only way it works for me.

Paul.... winkyy.gif ...!

One thing I can say in the years I have run the MPs I have never had it disconnect, think due to being so close to the main hub and connection and that was even in early days using the telephone line, today its cable.

New free FSX/P3D multiplayer announced on ADX today. Might be worth trying out with for your group flights: http://www.fscloud.net/

I've been exceptionally busy with school lately but I think I can make time for this. Need to investigate that FSCloud thing too.
What's the attendance status with everyone?
