What type of AC are you using with those frame rates?

That's a primary point as well , not only the AC but the scenery settings ... I am MAXED to the point to show the AGN .

For my setup i have everything maxed out apart from my water being on high x2 and autogen being on dense. I predominantly fly PMDG 737/777's and it wasn't unusual for me to have anywhere from 25-30fps around FTX Global/ Orbx Regions. (i have a my frame rate locked 30fps externally by Inspector)

Typically a greedy bugger , AGN has always been in the display 'Extremely Dense' setting , I'll reduce that and check how it compares .

On my ageing 2011 rig, I get a steady 18-21 fps with both Orbx Christchurch and the photoreal Christchurch over the city area (autogen set to Very Dense, Orbx lights set to 'DAY', default aircraft, spot view, clear weather) dropping to 15-17 fps when looking towards the airport. This is having already removed the two .BGL's Eddy suggested.

For all those who have been checking out the new NZSI night lighting, remember Orbx has a switcher which enhances these during dusk/sunrise phases, but also keeps them active throughout the daytime and reduces performance. Running the 'FTX Day' script is said to increase FPS and disables the 3D lighting to an extent.

Thanks anyway Ian but the re-install fixed it.

Did you reinstall the NZSI SP3 or the ORBX NZQN Addon??

I've made a Christchurch tower to hopefully give it a bit more authenticity... just waiting to hear back from a few people that it doesn't blow up their computers smile.gif

It's made to replace the FTX control tower as this is the most up to date version of NZCH currently but it could be used in other scenerys it might not exclude the tower though.

Great stuff Rick !!!
Have you tried pinging Eddy? I'm sure he could get it substituted into a patch for FTX punters if you wanted to share it with them?

I'd rather not give it away exclusively to Orbx, I want anyone to be able to use it and probably locals will get the most enjoyment out of it - anyway, I used 3ds max student version so there's a big non-commercial caveat with that product.

Now that looks superb Nick cool.gif , I was chatting to Ade , Adrian Petford till all hours last night and talked about scenery and prominent land features, I thought one thing that comes to mind since into these single one offs and would a great addition, the Christchurch Sugarloaf tower ... this is visible as far away as Swannanoa (Des Lines)airfield , be dang interest and a pleasure to see what you come up with .

STEEL , Flown past it many times after para flights, got a few good photos and many other plane hires .. the red and white stuck out for ages , even from here from Upper Riccarton you could see the paint , after passing it so many times .. course standing under it .. that was the Halley's Comet days , that model is just missing that Christchurch feel.

I have the Sugarloaf mast in my FS9 - it's in one of Ian's sceneries I think.

Yes indeed , I did not build a model, used a default object and expanded so it would show from the required distance, its amazing how the tower sticks out and at different angles either from the ground and coming in from the air and in different days and times.
