Don't the current Sea sprites (which were purchased new) have or had significant corrosion issues?
Remember the 50-50-90 rule. Anytime you have a 50-50 chance of getting something right, there's a 90% probability you'll get it wrong!

The more signicant thing here is that they will get proper fire and forget ASM missles (the Penguin)

That is the best question pointed out yet ... I think in twenty years only 2 Mavericks were ever fired .. one from the A4 just before its disposal and recent .. well 6 years back on a sprite ... obviously very very good shots biggrin.gif

Strangely i do wonder how many rounds they will get .. spose its a cheap option to make up for the dorky defence .. maybe they should have brought larger helicopters able to lift the spear LAV's the army brought and simply drop them onto the possible targets .... Korean squid boats of Kaikoura ninja.gif

These helicopters will provide increased naval aviation availability, improve maritime surveillance and search capability. The first three aircraft are due to be transferred from the Kaman facility in Connecticut to New Zealand in early 2015, with the full complement of eight helicopters scheduled to be in RNZAF service during 2016.
