A bit cold and greyish sky's, but another great day at Omaka

Good to see ZK-MUD all finished and awaiting CAA checks

Some of the WWl line up

Grahams Dr1 looks great in black, also complete and awaiting it's CAA check over

Good to se Tony has his first Gnome completed running and sold

TVAL dropped in on Friday with planes on their way to Wanaka good to see some on display also today

ZK-RFR undergoing maintenance at the moment

The highlight for me would have to be getting asked by Graham Orpham if I felt like a flight in his lovely old Fleet, that was definitely a great experience, we made several circuits over the area with 3 touch and goes included.
Won't forget that in a while. biggrin.gif

'Propliner' is actually short for 'Proper airliner, with big rumbly radials'

You must. The line up is getting better all the time. A couple more WWl aircraft well on there way to competition and a Spitfire not too far away either.

These sorts of open days are a really good idea - often a much better opportunity for the general public to engage with the pilots and aircraft than at the big airshows where they're very much "on the other side of the fence" so to speak. smile.gif

Toatlly agree, I think what makes Omaka apart from the rest is having a Museum of interest also following the aircraft on the field, and the other types seen here covers everyones interest .. bloody Great! cool.gif

Great shots! And very generous of GMO to take you for a blitz in the Fleet - a nice machine that.

Omaka is an astounding place, I lived in Blenheim for a while. There are things going on there that will make you drool!
