I had to install manually but I think I have woken up. I have to install "effects" "gauges" etc individually into the sim?. I think I have just put them all in sim objects. It is starting to come back to me.
The aircraft is an Auster j1 just for practicing installation.

Or it might have been an invalid entry in the aircraft.cfg file.

Is it a FSX aircraft or a FSX9 if it is a FS9 there will not be a thumbnail to show up in the aircraft list

I still can't see the aircraft in the sim. Can you explain about the aircraft.cfg as this is something else I can try.

Have you got your Select Aircraft to show all on the three options across the top and also have you got the show all Variants ticked

Yes. I am showing ALL on the three options and have All Variants ticked and it is still not showing up. I don't know what I could have done.

I have had a further check and everything seems to be in the correct place but the aircraft is just not showing up in the sim. Anyone got any further suggestions please?.
I have had a look at the aircraft.cfg but not really sure what could be amiss there?.

Check in the aircraft.cfg file for the line that reads...

model=some-name-here

if that name doesn't exactly match a folder in the aircraft folder with that as its extension (e.g. model.some-name-here) then the aircraft wont be listed.

Thanks for your help. I will have a look at that but I now suspect that I have a corrupted file in the download. Might give up on this one and try another for practice.
