Whisplacer in Win7x64

Does anyone have Whisplacer working in 64-bit Win7 ?
I wasted a large chunk of my weekend trying to make it behave, so I could build a very modest airport scenery as a training exercise in ADEX.
I eventually found that it might move a folder of thumbnails into Whisplacer 0.9/thumbnails/user - I had to create that path; there was no thumbnail folder in the install - or it might say it couldn't, because a file or folder was open or in use etc etc, at which point I clicked on Cancel and then it moved the damn files anyway!
Then it would not connect to FSX, even though I made sure FSX was running before I asked it to connect. The instruction is to use Auto settings , but it says it can't find the simconnect port, which has defaulted to 0 and won't let me change it.
Then I decided to just add a windsock, and when my ade file came up it happily informed me it had deleted several objects.
I pressed on 'with great coolness and determination', opened my Ruawai bgl and added the windsock, but when I tried to save it, I got kicked out of FSX, Whisplacer and even this forum, where I was composing this post. angry.gif

Anyone have any suggestions ? - at the moment I am close to "Open the window and see if it flies"

'Propliner' is actually short for 'Proper airliner, with big rumbly radials'

I use it with Win 8 64bit, and it works fine, so I assume that it would work the same with Win 7. However I did have a bit of trouble getting it to connect to FSX, I ended up using the SimConnect Config tool, even though everything else worked with the default SimConnect settings.

Bear in mind that Whisplacer isn't an airport designer, so it will strip out any stuff which isn't simple model placements, or the few objects which it actually supports. So if you loaded a file made in ADE, you wouldn't be able to compile it back to a full airport facilities file, so you'd need to save it with a new name and use it to place models only.

Thankyou Rob - you may have saved me a lot of wasted effort.
I made the airport in ADEX, just a very basic runway+parking, compiled to a bgl. I just wanted to add a couple of buildings to that, but if Whisplacer won't work with ADEX bgls then I will have to find another object placer.

Getting past my bedtime, so it must be long past yours. 0445 comes early ohmy.gif
