Maybe follow my idea and let it create a ORBX folder then drag or copy the contents across .

When I initially installed FSX a year or so ago I did so by installing it directly into the D-drive and did so without any issues. When I picked up ORBX NZSI some months back and tried installing it directly into FSX on the D, the NZSI installer said it couldn't find FSX on the C-drive. I then installed FSX on to my primary C-drive with the hope that I could transfer the NZSI files over to the FSX installation on D, but it wouldn't go over cleanly. Now, when I just tried to re-install it again the NZSI installer would only allow me to install it into an aircraft file folder for Rick Piper's Aeroprakt A-22 Foxbat found in the FSX installation on the primary C-drive for some bizarro reason. The NZSI installer will not allow me to edit it to select the D-drive.
Any suggestions?

It sounds like a messed up registry, so I think running the registry fix would be your best bet.

I booted up FSX and added the various scenery files to the scenery library in what seemed to be a logical order, and then signed off, and re-booted to check the results. I first selected to take a hop out of Wanaka but noted that it was offering only a single airstrip and one parking spot near the fuel pumps, so that didn't seem to bode well as I know Wanaka's busier and more developed than that, so I chose my favourite SI go-to airfield, Mandeville, and got into Ant's DH.82A Tiger Moth. I did notice that there were hangars, vehicles, and people around that are not seen in the default scenery, but immediately upon getting airborne I was faced with a horrific and confusing mish-mash of landclass polygons that looked anything but reasonable or normal. Unfortunately, I didn't take any screenshots to illustrate the problem, but trust me, it wasn't the scenery one expects of the SI.
Are now we are getting somewhere , I think i no exactly what you have watery tiles through specific areas, the fix was easier for me, I simply re-installed again X3 , you are the sixth person that has had this problem to my knowledge, some just gave up and others pulled there PC apart , I wonder if you can reinstall now you have re-directed the folders ?
Neil , This shows 'Register Repair' and ORBX switch's have a glitch somewhere and they don't always work . If you were to buy a brand new system it would work fine but the Ole PC's can really flip a lid if adding or taken out or building on it .Last edited by Ian Warren on Sun Jul 28, 2013 9:14 am, edited 1 time in total.

Hi Ian;
I tried re-installing NZSI into the C-drive and then physically dragged the various folders over to FSX in the D-drive and into the various folders where I thought everything belonged. It wasn't just the water textures that were screwed up; EVERYTHING was a mess. I've never been to New Zealand myself, but I'm a fan of the country and own more than one pictorial book (as well as wall calenders and scenic wallpaper on my PC) and I all I can say is it didn't look anything like photo's of NZ I've seen or even remotely like ORBX's own screenshots of the scenery. As for fixing registry errors, that may as well be Greek to me, and physically opening up my PC is a non-starter. My luck is bad enough as it is...
N.
BTW. I went over to the ORBX site to see if I could access some technical support only to find I can't get direct support via e-mail; only by posting a topic in their forum. Something I'm apparently not allowed to do for reasons umknown to me...

That isn't going to work just dragging folders across, as the installer does more than just copy files, it looks for existing files to shift around and renames a lot of stuff to disable it. Which is why you really need to make sure that the registry is correct. This isn't at all difficult, and requires absolutely no computer skills, except how to download and run a program and how to find your FSX folder.
These are the steps:
click on Alister's link above to download the tool -- I'll repeat the link here to make things simple.
Run the downloaded file.
Click on 'Repair FSX registry path'
A file browser window will open, browse to your CORRECT fsx.exe, which is on D: drive from the sound of it.
Click on 'open'
A message should say that it is all fixed.
Close the tool.

Hot damn, Toprob! IT WORKED! New Zealand now looks like the green and pleasant land it should be! A VERY BIG THANK YOU to you, Ian, and Alister for your suggestions, patience, and encouragement. I was just about ready to pack it in on ORBX, but you guys have made me one very happy camper!
