FSX Startup warnings?

The place to ask for help or solve each others technical issues and discuss hardware

Does anyone know a way to disable o skip the startup warnings that FSX produces? I've just installed all of the WOAI packages and have probably 80 or so 'multiple objects with same name' warnings pop up. I'm wondering if there's a line somewhere in the cfg giles I can edit to disable or skip these?

From the sound off it , your missing specific registered files , normally these pop up on a first install with the larger programs and run file afterwards , if this happens on every start-up shows something has not installed properly , there is no way to change this in the cfg. but do a screen and post , people who use the program would be able to see the error and come up with an answer .

I think this is a common problem with AI. There are normally two reasons why this might happen, first you have duplicate aircraft.cfg entries with the same 'title='. However if you get a whole lot of them, then it is might be fixable by editin your FSX.cfg, which has pointers to simobject folders. Some AI installers edit this with a pointer to a new folder containing just their aircraft, and you can end up with aircraft installed in both the normal simobjects folder, and another folder, both with the same 'title=',so check for 'SimObjectPaths.x' and there might be a hint as to where to look for duplicates.

Ah the old "installed a WOAI package twice" problem, its a pain, but the only way out really is to edit the aircraft.cfg files for the AI models affected and remove the duplicates.

Hi,

One of the best utilities for finding errors or duplication in the simobjects FSX folder is ACA2007 Light Aircraft Scanner by Peter van der Veen. Its simple effective and best of all its free. I tend to run it if I have made changes to any of the Traffic files, its surprising how easy it is to duplicate repaints especially if you have a lot.

Hope this assists

This is what I feared, honestly I don't have much of a problem sitting down for a day and going through every aircraft.cfg file and renaming things....the problem is when I've googled the problem before, it appears I also need to change the names in the aiflightplans to exactly what they are in the aircraft.cfg.

I'll try what Stewart said aswell.
