Help? ORBX vs. Godzone

A forum specifically to discuss the latest and greatest of all flight simulators

Hey all, I have had Godzone RealNZ Tauranga for a while now, and I recently bought NZNI (FTX terrain mesh) from ORBX. Annoyingly, the crew at ORBX 'rushed' Tauranga and used poor buildings and textures etc to create the airport. I tried to activate my RealTaurangaNZ over top, but it is too noticeable.

Is there ANY way to make it so that I can have the beautiful Godzone/Real NZ scenery NZTG airport, but still use the mesh and surrounding areas from ORBX? I know VLC is integrated with RealNZ, but I had a discount for FTX, and thought it wouldn't conflict.

Cheers!!

Provided you have version 2.0 of Real NZ Tauranga, then you can patch it for NZNI.
Real NZ FTX compatibility page.

By the way, Orbx have announced that they are working on a payware Tauranga.

If you have downloaded it recently, then you will have the patched version already.

Hmm, it did something, but now all the taxiways and runways are below the textures... :/

Have you set the FTX scenery priority using FTX Central? You need to set the Insertion Point so that any Real NZ scenery loads after FTX.

I don't think the manual covers the FTX insertion point -- this is from the patch manual:

QUOTE
Using Real New Zealand Tauranga with
Orbx NZNI
You must run the FTX Central tool and set the FTX Scenery Insertion Point so that Orbx NZNI and NZSI load before any Real New Zealand scenery such as Real NZ Tauranga. To set the correct location, make sure that the Insertion Point is BELOW any Real New Zealand scenery.
('Below' in this case is relative to the depiction within the FTX Scenery Insertion Point tool window.)
Be aware that this is the only way to effectively control the scenery priority of any Orbx scenery, as using FTX Central to change regions will always over-ride any manual settings within the Scenery Library![/quote]
