Great.....thank you. I don't see the need to replace it yet if it's going to fly

Yes, I have one but I just saw another on on TM very cheap.....I might get than one too because I do like the SW and they will become extinct sooner or later

Is that true? I know that MS does some silly things from time to time, but I would have assumed that their own OS (Windows 7) would recognise their own hardware (Sidewinder)......hmmmm
Mine works fine with Windows 7. What sort of connector does it use?

It's USB. I haven't tried it yet, I don't have it with me at the moment, I have to go fetch it next week, but I have been reading all sorts of stories online about Win 7 and Sidewinder being not compatible. I find it hard to believe but it seems that many people have this problem. If you yours works though, then mine should too

Mine is a Precision2.....I guess I'll have to wait until next week to see whether it works or not

realjumper wrote:QUOTE (realjumper @ May 10 2013,9:36 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Is the MS Sidewinder joystick suitable for FSX....at least for a beginner like me? I notice that the Logitech Attack 3 joystick seems to be favoured, but I already have the sidewinder and I'd like to start out with that.
Cheers,

I had a sidewinder but had no rudder control so I upgraded to a logitec extreme. This one works fine. I got mine on ebay, they seem to be cheap on there

I see that the Logitec is the 'real deal' and I will certainly look to buy one if the SW gives me any trouble. I'll check this all out next week and see what happens.
