I would like to create a flight plan to follow on GPS from West Arm, Manapouri to Preservation Inlet.
I have so far created one from Manapouri to Monowai & deviated via waypoints to cover the desired route.
Is there a way to edit that to remove Manapouri & Monowai.

Hey Rocky,

You can always open the saved flightplan using the FLIGHTS-FLIGHT-PLANNER menu, then click the EDIT tab, and click any waypoint in the route and choose DELETE-WAYPOINT on any waypoints you dont want.
Then click SAVE which will ask you to name the saved file, at that point you can save it as a copy of the flightplan should you want to keep the original.

Aha, now I see what you asking, sorry, well you can always open the PLN file directly in a text editor (e.g. notepad.exe) and alter the departure/destination details and the first/last waypoints.
You should find the PLN files here...

You need to save your flight from the FSX planner and then open it in Plan-G (free/donation ware). Once there you can right click on the start and end points and delete them from the plan. Next Save the plan as an FSX Flight plan, go nack to FSX and clear the current paln and then load the modified one.

In fact, what I do is prepare my Flight plan in Plan-G, save it and then import the plan into FSX so avoiding any planning using the FSX planner.

Plan-G website

I'm using Plan-G V2.x - the current version is 3.0.4.59, I notice that there are some changes (not to the better in my opinion) so there may be some changes which could prevent this method working with the latest version; however, I think this would be unlikely and that you should have success.

I did have a look at the PLN file I saved.
Not just a simple one line text mod.
Looks like I'll have to rewrite both the start & finish sections.

Had a look at plan G some time ago & put it in the too hard basket.
May have to have another look.
