Hi everyone,

In my wish list I have Airbus X Extended A320 series( Tired of waiting for FSLABs ) and Majestic Dash8 Q400.

Just wanted to know if anyone has either of these two and what are your opinions on them? If anyone has either for sale (lower than retail price) please let me know.

Thanks a lot
Ben

I do have the Airbus Extended , this comes the winglet ( sharklet types) 320/321 series , there are authentic ANZ and Jetstar paints that actually suit the engine type operated in New Zealand , this would offer you our trunk routes and course the OZ international option - it also comes with FS passenger module ( aircrew coughing , radio chatter and the likes ) .. as you may have read i'm not a Airbus fan but thought its one i should have just the fact i'm greedy .

The Dash8 .. You asking this question makes me want to find out what or least how good it really is and buy it myself , the reviews and first look thumbs up by many of our NZFFers course Jon Murchison of ARNZ has completed a paint in the Air New Zealand livery , fact we don't have stretched Dash's in the NZ has not stopped people grabbing it ... big thing is you can put into many of the smaller airfields .. especially the superb photo real and custom made suit for this type .

As for "sales" it a pot luck draw ... hells you only save a few bucks any-ways ... I'd just grab the one that you'd think suits you now winkyy.gif

Thanks Ian for your response!
I trust your words for the Airbus so I might just grab it for now.

I wasn't keen on Majestic Dash 8 Q300 due to the poor quality panel but it seems they have stretched their standards and produced a decent turboprop. I also have PMDG JS41 back of my mind as I heard great things about it.

The Airbus cockpit , dose not have the same appeal as the PMDG NXG .. now that is a real hum-dinger , and at the same price and extra ... its really superb .. the J41 is now showing its age so this widens you choice .. personal if your going the mid range Jet .. i'd go the 737-700-900 series cool.gif

Edit: 800 -900 series from PMDG

Ian, I have the PMDG 737 NGX and its the jewel of my fleet. It is fantastic.

In general A320/330/340 cockpit is less captivating than Boeing. Saying that, I would still like to have a decent Airbus and for now Airbus X Extended seems to do the job, Glad didnt waste my money on AirSimmer .

Anyone is anticipating to wait for FSLABs A320 ?

Thanks for your advice on J41, I will go with Q400 then smile.gif

Hey Ben. Yeah I'm one of the many who are waiting for the FSL model.

My advice would be don't rush in and buy the Aerosoft model, at least not without having a real good look at the BlackBoard one - it may be a work in progress but systems wise it will be the equal of the Aerosoft one, if not already.

If I were you I'd buy the Dash8 now, and save some pennies for a bus later in the year

Neither A320 product is without faults, we have guys in Virtual Air New Zealand who run the two models, noone I can think of who has both, but all are happy with either the BlackBox or Aerosoft model, and these are very picky simmers too biggrin.gif

I'd say you'd be better served by researching at some of the bigger forums where there are hundreds of posts about this very topic, ie comparing the two A320 offerings. It aint gonna be an easy decision tho thumbup1.gif

An Interesting read about current A320 FSX products,
Here
Not sure how reliable the claims are but seems an in-depth analysis.

The best THUMB of the rule is ask the real time Pilots - most were a nah for the Airbus ... and as for FS ,always Boeing - n the real , many simply don't like the 320 ... but long time driver i no dose cos he said did'nt have to do a thing ?

. One long hour'd pilot loves the game .. 'real' i mean again but prefers to put all his attention into other areas .. fact is some people thrive on LH's and others most prefer the SH .. seems to most from i've spoken to want rather have the Boeing , evening many GC concur .. With the airline - it s a lump it or like it .. course one big thing was the politics ....

Big thing here is you want to no how real do these Flightsim Simulations compare with the real deal .. Maybe its time to asks some of our regular real time pilots and thoughts .

Be interesting to hear thoughts and gauge a result . cool.gif

I guess we have different levels of simulation to compare to:

Entertainment focus : i.e. FSX , Simulation level won't be close to real thing due to limitations and costs

Professional Focus :i.e. CAE simulations costing over few millions Dollars which is "almost" perfect and real- like

I hope one day I can afford to buy the home version of moving SIM biggrin.gif I saw few videos on youtube and they seem pretty cool . Full motion Sim would add lot of realism to even the most basic plane.

I like the options these people provide :http://www.inmotionsimulation.com/

I mean more like the motion seats with monitor and stuff , Pacific simulation is not motion based. I remember I tried them when they had a branch in Wellington. Shame they closed down their Wellington sim, but i guess snot many could afford to pay the price

They had a Sim in Wobblyville .. that would have got things moving .. I had many shots at having a dang good play with it many times ... scenery thing ya no .. and then to top it off AlisterC AKA "Albatros" sent me a ticket to add to the experience .. and to finish it off we have two other regulars here Sean and Brent who work on the the sim now just down the road from here .
