Hi,
I have looked everywhere for Parakai airfield without success. I fly from there hence my interest. Timmo, you stated some time ago you were working on it?

Lawrie

Just downloaded from Flightsim and installed. The sealed runway looks like it overlays a limestone one with the "white" showing here and there along the right hand (Rwy26) side of the seal and also at the threshold. [I am running FSX + Acceleration] VLC in its entirety is installed. Have not any other Parakai bgl's anywhere (that I can see anyway). Certainly your photoshot looking down and along 26 does not show it this limestone effect. I will take a "shot" in the morning and attach it to a further comment.

Hi lawrie,
Great timing. Thankyou. I also notice the under laying runway. I think it is the default. Also on my system the runway shows up glowing white on approach. Maybe this something else In my system.
There are some small details that are not quite right. I can send you photos if you want to rework but anyway I am wrapped I now have my home field in FSX. Thankyou

Yes I'm getting the same effect as the screenie above, without the patch under the aircraft. I am seeing the white sandy effect the full length of the runway
until it suddenly stops.

I also notice the river behind the aircraft on the runway is a very light colour, as if it's in flood and full of mud. Water in the distance is blue.

I have fiddled around here for an hour or so trying to fix these issues but no joy....certainly no other NZPI stuff in scenery/world/scenery. There is an
old traffic file (Traffic Lawrie NZPI) but taking this out didn't help either.

Do you all have Real NZ Auckland Supercity for FSX installed ???
If so, that could be the answer. The ground as you see it in my screenshots is just plain VLC that uses FSX texture colours.
The textures i see in the screenie look like they could be photoreal ground textures.
I dont know how the scenery will fit into OrbX NZNI either.
It was built for FSX SP2 with VLC only.
The white runway textures you see cant be default FSX, because NZPI doesnt exist in FSX ( neither did it exist in FS9), just like many other airfields around NZ that Microsoft didnt include ( NZMK Motueka is another one).

Seems like a good call Lawrie, unticked SuperCity from the menu and problem now gone...

Also water behind the start point on the runway is now a nice shade of blue again...oh happy days... laugh.gif

I don't have ORBX.

Probably put the SuperCity back and put up with the sandy effect, not a biggy in my case..

I found that if one deactivates Super City certainly the problem we have with the Partakai runway is removed. You can achieve the same effect by .bak the AuckAerial.bgl in the Supercity scenery file. I think that is a better bet than deactivating the Super City addon as it seems the City proper scenery is contained in the AucklandcityX.bgl thus you retain the advantages of that improvement. In either case however you lose the surrounding airports detail; at least you do with North Shore, I did not look further.

Spot on, Lawrie!
Not knowing the area, I assumed it was grass growing on white sand, as I remember from many places in Scotland. I'll be keeping them both., with thanks.
