P-51 "Boo-Man Choo"

Discuss aircraft addons and repaints for Flight Simulator here

Postby Bomber12th » Wed Apr 17, 2013 1:04 pm

Here are some screenshots of a little repaint I've uploaded to SOH, Avsim, and Flightsim. This aircraft is owned by Col. Ray Hofman, based in Midland, TX. The name is inspired by the owner's son, whose nickname is "Boo-Man".

Thank you Adrian! The scenery is Fall City aiport, by ORBX (used with their PNW scenery) - quite a bit small for Mustang operations, but it makes for some nice backdrops. I usuaully either spend my FS flight time around this area, or around their New Zealand north island scenery.

Very nice work Bomber, thanks for sharing this with us. I'm wondering where that delightful looking airstrip is - an add on from Orbx I presume?
Edit - I see that Adrian got in before me and so I have my answer . . .

Thank you all for the feedback! The Wanaka-based ZK-SAS "Dove of Peace" should be done soon.

For any of the repaints I've released, if you don't happen to have the exact/specific set that I have released it for, and you would like to use it, please let me know which set you do have and I'd be more than happy to release a version for which ever set that is. This isn't because of a difference in detail/quality, but there are numerous differences in configurations between models for accuracy/authenticity between the models of all of the different sets (drop tanks, cockpits, propellers, mirrors, etc.) that would have to be adhered to for the best results.

Here's another new repaint which I'll upload this evening, which is a depiction of the restored P-51D-30-NA "February", owned by the Friedkin family/Comanche Fighters, and is one of the often-used Mustangs by the Horsemen aerobatic team. When owned by film maker Chris Woods, he produced the well known film, "Gray Eagles", which starred this aircraft and the pilot of the original wartime "February", Jim Brooks.

Great paint cool.gif and great trailer , very typical of the people that went to war , I was lucky to have such an interest and wanted to no that my father told me story's .. not so much the combat but more the quirky things that happened , he was in the Korean War , not a fighter jock but just someone who run around blowing things up .
