Hi there everyone,

I am over years of simming on my laptop, not being able to get anything decent out of FSX. I am going to build a PC that will be used for simming and for basic family uses such as word processing and emails.

I am not very tech-savvy so will need input from you (even though I will sound ridiculously stupid at some points). Over the years I have picked up on various tips such as the Nvidia/Intel combo rather than AMD.

My budget is somewhere up to $1200 (I know it may be a bit light, but i have no option).

First off, what are the key parts that are needed in a build?

Help will be very much appreciated

PS: I am willing to pay somebody in Christchurch to put the thing together come the time! Anyone interested/know anybody who would be?

Id go directly for the $1300 package , Warranty and would run FSX without a problem

I won't be running such demanding software such as PMDG, but would like to be ale to run ORBX SI. I was ale to run t on my Toshiba Satellite laptop with about 20-24fps so this desktop should handle it.

Is the PSU a bit the light side? Should I upgrade to a 750W or something?

For the few extra dollars a 750 would be a choice , that system will run a PMDG NGX a piece of chocolate cake course went running give me or Doug a Nudge (not fudge that gos well with chocolate) for the Christchurch photo .

Me ... i would still go the third choice because you get the Operating System: Windows 8 64bit with disc and licence rather a trial ... , but i'm not sure how Win8 works with FSX , read many have issues .. spose you could knock the price down going back to Win7 .

A thought .. PC Dragon have stores .. can they beat the price .. anything gos wrong with it least the shops in CHCH are close by .

With full OS and not a Trial and the 750w power supply maybe get the list you have here and see if a Christchurch firm can equal it ?

Simply type in the specs and goggle the g/card , giving cards away could .. might cause a headache at latter stage and let you down .
