unsure.gif Have recently invested in Ifly737 product and just love it.
However, am having troulble when inserting the airport ICAO code.................
It inserts the letters but not the complete code.
e.g. when trying to insert KSEA, depressing each key replaces the nxet one!!!!
Does anyone have any input on this as I would love to get past the problem?
Maybe i'm doing something wrong but appear to be following Captain Ray's book to a TEE...................

Hey there Barrington,
I consider myself Ifly type rated, so will see if I can help you out.
Firstly, FSX or FS9? I have both, but maybe that makes a difference.
Secondly, do you have all the latest service packs installed? Although if you recently bought it, I guess it came with all that. In your start menu in the ifly folder is a text doc that will tell you current version. It should be 3.1 (fs9 & fsx). If not, head to the support forum for an update download.

I've just been on fs9 and not been able to replicate your fault. When exactly does it happen? What page are you trying to enter the airport code?
Have you tried clicking the button on the top right of the frame of the FMC called "keyboard" and tried using the keyboard to enter "KSEA"? Might be a way around it until you can figure this out.

The support forum at ifly is very good, just remember to search thoroughly first.

By the way, you are trying to insert "KSEA" all at once right? Not trying to insert each letter one at a time? That will overwrite your first letter with the second. IE type in KSEA on the pad, then insert all at once is the correct way.

Hi Alister
Thanks
for your interest........
To answer your questions:
1) FSX
2)version 3.1
3) On the POS INIT page under <index>
4) Have tried 'keyboard' and still no joy
5) it won't let me type KSEA all at once as each letter is overwriting the other as soon as I type it
6) Have tried from the FMC keypad
7) have tried from the normal keyboard by typing K then S and the screen changes views!!!
8) have not gone to Ifly forum as yet but will do soon.
9) frustrating
10) more frustrating!!!

maybe this will help. It reminds me to ask if you did the right click install as administrator when you first installed the 737?

Also I seem to remember from when I set mine up that they said that you must ensure that when FSX starts it does so with one of the default aircraft rather than some other favourite add-on aircraft because these other aircraft can change some of the settings which affect the 737 systems.

Looks like Scaber is right on the money here with that link. That's the very fault you are reporting. I'm on Win XP so I guess it's not an issue I am likely to come across. I also load up my sim in the default Cessna 172 before loading my addon plane in the game.
