activating FSX acceleration problem

Hi all
Just gone to install FSX gold on my new PC but have run into a problem with the acceleration DVD. I installed FSX gold and acceleration on our old pc some years ago with no issues.
FSX gold installed on the new pc fine and product key activated the software on porbs. Installed acceleration and used the same product key but got invalid product key.
I have looked but can only find the one product key inside the backcover. The acceleration booklet has no product key and I assume that the FSX gold product key would work for both. Anyone have a similar issue with installing on a different pc?

Microsoft Flight Simulator X: Gold Edition combines the Deluxe Edition and the Acceleration expansion pack into one so you should already have acceleration installed and shouldn't need to install acceleration over the FSX gold edition

Ive had the issue many times before just follow the prompts and it should come to a phone number to ring ,ring the number and follow the directions ,you dont normally talk to anyone and it only takes 5 min to do ..

Acceleration still needs to be installed and activated via the product key. Gold edition added the deluxe and expansion pack

Mine came with two keys but they were on a separate sheet of light card. Maybe something got lost between your two installations? Hope you can sort it out without too many hassles.

Just a side note to the above in case anyone was considering upping from Deluxe to Deluxe and Acceleration pack.

Was quite happy flying around the countryside with Deluxe untill I bought some Nemeth Design Heli's. No acceleration=no Rotors.

No sweat, thinks I ! Buy the Acceleration Pack off Amazon, plenty of copies. Declined my business, the rude buggers, as did Amazon UK. No copies anywhere to be found south of the Equator.

There are copies on Ebay but by this time I had lost the will to live. Finally found out by chance that the second disc in Gold is identical to the disk in the separate Acceleration Pack.

Am now (very) nervously awaiting the arrival of said Gold from PC Australia. Definitely do not want to hear about any probs loading Acceleration over the top of Deluxe! I have slaughtered two chickens and checked their entrails and 3rd day after the full moon should be okay.

I think Greg is right about there should be two keys ,just not 100% cause i brought mine separate which came with a key for each ,though make sense there should only be one if its a bundle sale, anyway i have a mate in the USA that biffed out the covers which had the Keys on them ,i suggested he contact MS and they sorted him out after he explained what happened and re activated his copys over the phone with new key ,normally you will only have this issue when youve Re install FSX on fresh windows installs in a short periods of time as its picking up on changes to op system identitys and classes it a multi pc installs error comes up to contact ms to re activate fsx keys etc ..
ive installed FSX hundreds of times , problems installing the main deluxe and acceleration are very rare and to be honest the key problem is the only one ive ever had ..

Maybe I have missplaced the key code. I installed FSX on our old computer about three years ago and maybe I have lost it. I'll give MS a ring to see if I can get a new key. Will report back.

I'll be interested to hear what they have to say. It should be possible to verify from your FSX code that you had purchased the Gold edition and therefore are eligible for the Acceleration pack too. I hope it works out ok.

Just rang Micrsoft on the 0800 800 004 number and as they no longer support FSX they no longer provide a replacement product keys. Unless there is another number to ring I guess thats that. They suggested that I contact the store that I purchased the software from but how does that help. Since the product keys are in the dvd case and the case is sealed how can the store possibly help. If anyone has another number for MS let me know.
I guess the lession is keep your paper work in a safe place

I had troubles last October after a pooter crash, when re-installing. Probably caused by my doing more that 3 instals on my deluxe version. I also followed the direction to contact MSN and it was a bust.

I had to buy a new disk, unfortunately buying the deluxe instead of Gold. As the discs are not tied up to the product code you could get a spare Acceleration key from anyone here.

If that fails I will have a surplus of Acceleration keys in about 10 days and you are welcome to one of them. Don't think there is anything illegal about that as they are all paid for.

$22.99US gets you a downloadable version of FSX Gold. Click on the buy now link and it takes you direct to your xbox login account from Microsoft. It seems they still do sell it and therefore should be supporting it. The link takes me to my microsoft account login so I expect that it should allow you to buy it even though we are in NZ not USA.

I was sure that the product key in the case activated both but but I guess I was wrong. This then leads to the question if I don't activated the acceleration dvd and choose later, that features are missing and how long before the software shuts down?
Just seems crazy given FSX is still been sold.

I installed a separate Acceleration disk yesterday over the top of a Deluxe version just so that Nemeth Design Heli's would work.
All went well. I had to uninstall Service Pack 2 but there was a prompt and instructions how to do that.
