when you say 60.. be sure to start 20 minutes earlier or so , also it are using the the Standard NZFF team-speak channel you might want to set that up today so if you have problem get it sorted before the alotted time , you everything up and running rather than sorting out issue and tweaking smile.gif

You find the best MPs are spur of the moment , word via teamspeak and spread during the setup or flight .

Hi Guys,

Just a H/U that our OZx Flying Club friday night regular sessions are back up
if any of you want to join.

We start at 0830Z, which I realise may be past your bedtimes, but we have quite a few
kiwis that join us some nights.

Tomorrow its GA aircraft(our usual) from Whakatane to Wellington, via the East Coast.

Our TS is 203.46.105.41:20050 (OZx Flying Club Comms 1 channel)

And its from here that we
give out the host IP.

Cheers

Can I/we assume that you are using the InSpire Server as Host: 203.114.130.15, (for those of us that don't use/prefer not to use; "Team Speak").

Of course there's always the problem of the dreaded; "Time Zones"!...UK/USA/NZ... sad.gif ...!

Paul....FS 2004 + FS Navigator....G-BPLF... cool.gif ...!

Hi Paul,

Not sure i understand what Inspire server...... etc is all about.

Note your sig mentions FS2004.

We are using FSX, and we host via direct link to our ISP addresses. Thats since the FSX Gamespy method of
connecting shut down. I host up to 15 in sessions.

We use TS as voice quality we find to be better.

Cheers

Hello Tony... smile.gif ...!

InSpire Server (for NZ) [203.114.130.15], is one of the dozens of FS Host Multiplayer Servers for FS 2002, FS 2004, and FSX...>>> http://www.chocolatesoftware.com/

Most of the Multiplayers use the public FS Host Servers...(also the FSX alternative to Game Spy).

It is standard for FS 2002 and FS 2004, and is accessed for FSX using FS Host Client.
(Many of we FS 2002/FS 2004 Pilots also use FS Navigator in the Sessions).
"Teamspeak" is also available for those wishing to use it.

"FS Host Spy" lists all of the Multiplayer Servers. their IP Addresses, etc, and who is on-line!

Paul....FS 2004+FS Navigator,+FSX and FS Tramp... cool.gif...!

In the early; "dial-up Internet" days, we were restricted to using each others IP addresses for a limited time in Multiplayer. Since FS Host started we have all been able to use the many Public Servers offered there, for our Broadband, FS 2002, FS 2004, and FSX Multiplayer sessions.

Paul,

Thanks for that, its quite clear to me what its all about now.

Like Ian, I must give that side of multiplayer a try one day, but our present way of
direct connect is working a treat, so as we say
"when it aint broke, don't try to fix it" rolleyes.gif

I did try FSinn for FS2004, years ago and always suffered big problems and
extreme jerkiness between aircraft, so I guess I have been a bit reluctant to work
with other add on programs to facilitate MP.

Also todays ISPs, provide much larger download limit (and indeed upload) than
they did several years ago.

But as we say, "whatever floats your boat"

Cheers thumbup1.gif

Two main reasons for problems in Multiplayer:

(a) Getting kicked off the Session: Players Modem/Router Ports not opened for all Player access*. All required Ports must be open!

(b) Players aircraft leaping around in the scene: Some/all players Frame Rates set to Unlimited. They must all be locked to 20 FPS, to prevent Server/Host overload!

* FS Port Test...>>> http://www.chocolatesoftware.com/forum/index.php?topic=737.0 Download, and run the Tester.

B is a primary and the other , people not using CHEAT or JUMP keys every second to stay in any formation , good communication for MP also

All good info..........

Also in FSX anyway,
another cause of planes jumping all over the sky is that some
payware aircraft "flood"

There is a list somewhere which lists all popular payware, and if
they are prone to flood MP sessions.

Cheers

I have found if you abide by the rules everything runs as smooth as silk , even the high end models such as A2A B-17s or the company's fighter series work perfectly .
