I saw a strange sight at Gisborne, which I am pretty sure is not meant to be there at all. It reminded me I also have three like this at the default Wellington, which were there long before I installed the VLC NZGS.
There was also one at northern end of the Invercargill apron, which disappeared when I added Craig Darral's NZNV.
It seems to be some default thing sneaking in, in each case. I just don't know if there should be buildings there at all.
Thanks for the new airports Timmo! Great work. Haven't had more than a quick look at a few yet as I was preoccupied with fixing a problem I found at Whenuapai.
I'm seeing the same thing as Mike, three default hangars poking through your scenery. Confirmed as default as I stripped my install of VLC airfields, libraries, VLC itself and Real NZ Supercity leaving only default scenery and these objects remained.
I made an exclude file to clear them... but does your Whenuapai use any default FSX library objects Timmo? I don't want to lose anything that may be intended to be there. Whenuapai is a superb rendering so it's a shame to have ugly default objects getting in the way.![]()
Thanks - keep up the good work!![]()

Ian - Still learning to drive it. It is a mighty machine, very sprightly on half tanks, and lots of flap available so no probs with short strips - just make sure you have the stick right back in your lap if you need to do some serious braking![]()

Cheers, Tim. There also don't seem to be any files for Wairoa, at least not listed under its ICAO and the airport is still showing as default.
Thanks... plenty of good stuff still to explore!

emfrat wrote:QUOTE (emfrat @ Dec 11 2012,11:44 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Thanks, Timmo - I will certainly look at that. I was wondering how an apparent default object could be untextured. There seem to be two involved - the low profile one at NZGS, of which there are two at NZWN, and the middle one at NZWN which is shorter and taller. I will have a look at Whenuapai too. I can make a bog-standard install on another machine and see what that shows at these locations.
Thing is, I made some changes to fix problems introduced by FTX AU - I hope this isn't a side effect. I have this link (which I think I found here) http://lc0277.gratisim.fr/sceneobjects/
I can see a couple of suspects there - could you let me know the GUID for the one you used at NZGS?
Sorry to be so slow replying - RW is intruding a great deal on my simming at the moment.
Thanks for the help

The objects don't have guids as they 'generic' or parameter buildings rather than a 3D model as such. You simply provide the dimensions and set the texture and then the sim builds it.....so, my only recommendation is to do a repair of FSX is it looks as if a default texture sheet is missing?

Timmo -
Thanks for clarifying that - saved me a wild goose chase or two. I will have some free time tomorrow, and the weekend should be clear.
I agree there is a texture problem, but only the walls are black - the roofs are grey, with blurry shapes, like a badly rendered default flat roof.
I do want to find out what may have deleted some default textures, without replacing them...
Leave it with me for the mom.
Thanks again

The textures appear to be in C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\Texture and are either called
air_tb1_2.dds
air_tb1_2_bump.dds
air_tb1_2_lm.dds
air_tb1_2_specular.dds
...
...
through to
air_tb9_10.dds

and
air_w1.dds
air_w1_bump.dds
air_w1_lm.bmp
air_w1_specular.dds
...
...
through to
air_w10.dds
...
...

Adrian, would you be able to PM me a screenie of how your Whenuapai looks?
I have pics which I can send Tim, but I do not want to put them in the open forum, not least because the problem is more likely in my machine than in anything Tim has done.

Hi Mike,
Whoops... when I posted earlier, I'd only checked Wairoa. It seems that my Whenuapai still has the three default hangars poking up through Tim's scenery after installng the 1.21 update.
Would be happy to send screenies if you need comparisons on anything else, just let me know.
Cheers,

G'day from the Antipodies
I had a similar problem with Robin Corn's Nelson. Solved by reducing the Scenery Complexity setting from Max to Dense.

That's a relief! - do you have a half-buried bus behind that shed, where the containers are, near the pipes?
For some reason it took over 12 hrs to install FSX on that other box. It seemed to keep hanging, so I would click Cancel, which of course gave the warning message, then I clicked No and off it went again. Finished up leaving the damn thing and going to bed. However I should now be able to check those textures.
Thanks for all the help![]()
