does anyone have a problem with the bump maps being too shiny and sparkly with this Kingair ?,..compared it with Carenado's C340 and they acheived a much more subtle and natural effect ?. I tried altering / making new bump maps but no matter what I do it comes out all hickledy pickledy with crazy shading in FSX ?. This has nothing to do with Jankees outstanding repaint..it is the same with every different livery..

I must admit I found the default liveries way too shiny .... but I think Jankees' Kingair is much better (I'll double check).

I think the reflectivity is also handled by the alpha layers in the individual textures <??>.

shinyness wise I agree all of the different liveries are too shiny,..specular map textures control the "sun reflections" on the body work and the bump maps have their own alpha layer ,..I have redone the base alpha layer, new spec maps which have produced a much more natural shine (used the Carenado 340 alpha's,spec maps and bump maps as guides), and succeeded in reducing the shinyness of the bump maps but when loaded up in FSX there is a mental shading thing going on that I cant figure out.

Ah one more thing that I spotted with your excellent repaint bud,..the real RNZAF Kingair has no black paint on the engine inner nacelles,..they are completely grey biggrin.gif

no, it took me a while indeed...
I have uploaded a new version, with the correct A. Just download again and overwrite the previous version
Engines are still black though...

Meanwhile, I did a few more paints:
