Hi there people havent posted for about half a year but anyhow are wondering whether these specs wil run FSX + VLC on medium specs

HP Probook 6560b

Windows 7 proffesional, 64 Bit operating system
Intel Core i5-2520M CPU 2.50GHZ
8.00GB of RAM
Intel HD Graphics 3000 - 64MB memory

I will be upgrading the graphics card but aside from this will it run FSX OK?

Cheers

I used to run FSX + VLC, also the A2A spit and CS 727/767 on an HP dv6, The CPU was only 2.1 ghz, had a 512mb GPU. Used to run fine on med settings at about 20-25 fps.

A 2.5 ghz CPU is still very average though and definitely replace GPU if you can.

Aside from the GPU lacking, the low CPU speed will also be an issue. FSX thrives with a faster core CPU speed.

I looked into changing components in my laptop a few years ago, the HP service guy shook his head. Often laptops are made to fit one particular type of component and can't be changed to another, This is one of the main reasons why a desktop is a better choice for gaming.

It may worth contacting a service centre though, there could be some options.

You should just install FSX and try it first, you might be happy with what you have??

If you haven't got it yet I suggest you look at something else.

I have already installed FSX and it goes fine with 15-25 FPS but after 15 mins or so it says ''you have run out of memory please adjust the graphics settings'' and this is with the settings just on Medium so It aint going to work unless I can get another graphics card for it
