I bought me 1st DSLR last week and my right index finger has been itchy for some action and when I saw the rescue heli fly over Dinsdale and put down behind a hill, i had to go and investigate. Turns out it was a scheduled visit to Fraser Tech. There fields must be better drained than the adjoining park because i was sinking in the hamilton mud but the Bell 222 was fine.

Buy the time the images have been sampled down they have lost some sharpness. Any tips?

Cheers for that. Picked the camera up on trademe second hand, Its amazing the volume of photography equipment that is listed there at any one time. Plenty of deals to be had if you know what you looking at.

Maybe the principle is an aviation fanatic??? Does everyone still use photobucket or are there alternatives? It seems that is where I am getting image degradation. When i look at the very pics i upload on my PC, they are of higher quality than when I view them on photbucket. I will go through my account to see if there are any settings i don't currently know about but pics that others post seem to retain the origonal quality and seem to retain a level of sharpness that I am loosing. FSX screen shots included.

Ah ha, Just found on the photobucket site that when the upload gui opens up, on the the top right hand side there is a little icon labeled "Customize your upload options" The default setting is ti down sample to 1024x768. The free acount allows resolution up to 2048x1536. This setting has obviously been the thorn in my side.
