Trouble activating scenery again

I had this problem a few years ago (search "Trouble activating scenery" post by me) and Rob sorted me out but that solution is not working this time...

I'm reinstalling everything because of a burnt out graphics card, and having used the RealNZ Supercity installer, I try to activate it in FSX by Add Area, then selecting RealNZ Supercity and I get the two folders, scenery and textures. Clicking OK doesn't activate the scenery and this time neither does clicking in the white space, which was the fix that worked last time (in 2009).

Any ideas?

There's a pinned post here which explains the Win7 activation bug. Note that the steps are important -- select the RealNZsupercity folder (don't open it) and click on OK. When the folder opens, click on the blank area under the Scenery and Texture folders.

Your fix should still work, the only reason why it wouldn't is if there were no scenery files in the RealNZsupercity\Scenery folder, in which case you'd need to reinstall.

This is what I'm getting when I click in the white area. FSX is on my E drive, not the default C drive, but that was the case before too. I've tried rebooting but I get the same result. I tried looking into the scenery file and it has all the stuff in it, - it's not empty. I also tried reinstaling Supercity.

Once installed , just click in the big wide open space and your scenery will simply install biggrin.gif

That means that it has already been activated.

EDIT: Your Scenery Library is certainly interesting, It would be quite unusual to have Oceania at the top.

OMG, - you're right. I just expected to see Supercity at the top of the scenery library by itself, but I can't see it there at all. It's even better than I remember it (haven't used it for a while). I was just looking at Rosebank Domain (speedway track) and the two trees are exactly where they are in real life, - big pines. I've put stoat traps under each of them.

Oceana is at the top because I once had a problem with NZAA being as flat as a pancake, and activating Oceana fixed it. I can guess it can go down the list a bit now without fear of it becoming less... erect.

Thanks for your help. smile.gif
