Orbx Auckland issue?

The place to ask for help or solve each others technical issues and discuss hardware

As ive been running around NZNI FTX i went to try merge objects at NZRV ,so i start at the north end of the runway away from the buildings default NZNI ,i turn around drive down runway towards hangers and get to the corner and it crashes FSX ,i tryed this 10 times or so and again same FSX crash ,i can fly away from the airport but as soon as something loaded at this airport same crash of FSX, i tryed other airports in the area and all work well no crash ,deactivated Orbx NZNI and loaded up at NZRV airport and no crash issue at all ,load it back up crashed ,you get my point i hope ,
same thing again happened today at NZMB helipad ,same tests etc as reeves and deactivated no crash ,i loaded up at northshore and flew there no crash until i saved a test flight there and tryed to reload crashed again and again ,ive also turn off orbx ADE files no change still crashed .
Im not one to ask the questions at Orbx forums so im wondering if i could find out how many people are effected also at these points with maybe a crash etc ?
im 100% sure its a Orbx NZNI issue due to the fact ive done tests and know the flightsim file system well enough / installed ,really not able to work it out more until i isolate the problem down to just me or many others etc ,if and when you have time fly past or try to start from this points with just default Orbx NZNI and no photoreal or extra addons ,leave some feedback
, cheers mike

Mike,

Just flown into Reeve, no crash but did get a momentary pause about half way down the strip.

Re loading there, if I load at Waiheke Reeve from the airport list, its ok, but if I load Reeve
(same place isn't it ?) I crash cause it loads me down a gully about 100m away !!!

Could there be 2 AFCADS for the one place causing a conflict ??

Cheers

TonyM

Yeah after installing NZNI I have had 1 issue starting with the dreaded FSX serious error screen occur a couple of days after installation. So I have had to reinstall FSX and NZNI and SI and so far all good. Not to sure if this was a NZNI issue or just coincidence.

Yeah could be that and will check , First time i didnt see any double ups but would make the most sense that this could be causing the crash, pretty sure i dont have any extra afcads floating of my own around as i havent been working on this part of Auckland yet ,ill keep on trying to nut out the issue , ty for your time checking and feedback winkyy.gif .

I flew online Mp from Whangarei to Wellington via nearly every airport the day NZNI came out and didnt have one crash until i loaded up at reeves the next morning to see what i had to do there and then today when i loaded a pre saved flight at NZMB , did the other tests and even dive bombed the helipad no crash doing that until i try loading the flight there via the first main load screen ,NZRV-reeves i am able to fly around it in a large circle but get pretty close to it bam crash boom ...

Hi Guys,

Have just taken off from NZRV (started in the ditch that Tony mentioned) and have taken off without any issues so far......

I am currently flying to NZAA to do a T&G and will head back to NZRV to see if I get a crash?

Stand by.....

Ok guys,

All good with me. No crashes. Just the start position halfway up the hill on the west side in the bushes?

If i do get a glitch of some sort i will post ASAP.

Cheers.

Mike,

Unless you have already tried it,

I was thinking of removing the AFCAD (ADE_ ) file for REEVE. Then see what
happens,

There is no reason for two entries in the airport list for the one field.

Cheers

Ok solved i think ty Tony and others ,there are two afcads in Orbx folders ,one is NZRV the other is NZKE which are both reeves ,that wasent what was crashing the Sim ,i found when i deactivated the ADE_FTX_NZNI_NZKE_objects.bgl no crash fine so there is something in the scenery models which is crashing or conflicting ,only Orbx now will be able to sort these double ups and placement issues which are crashing some people ,ive still got to sort out NZMB though im thinking it has the rouge model file or double up also ..

some pic

below i turned of ADE_FTX_NZNI_NZKE_objects.bgl no crash .

So update to NZMB issue .
Ive been deactivating files around Auckland to find out what is crashing in the main Harbour , this is only on loading saved flights or loading for me from NZMB itself, ive turned of NZMB named afcad/objects etc and still getting the crash so i dont think its anything to do with the afcad or objects as i didnt find any double ups and they can be turned off and i still fsx crash ,actually the last test i did i made the save flight over the harbour the default load ,tryed reloading of sim and could not start the FSX at all without the error until i switched Off the Orbx scenery via there panel to default ,so it must be something else there or near there which is stuffing up .
important to know i have been able to fly from NZNE to Auckland and all around so far with no crash this is why i didnt notice it until i tryed to reload from a save flight etc ..

so still trying to find the problem file . unsure.gif

After finding its not just me with this issue over at Orbx forums support http://www.orbxsystems.com/forum/topic/476..._20#entry428366
i thought id update my outcome , findings and quick fix

QUOTE
Ok found the error files or what is causing my CTD around Auckland NZNI ,after about 100+ reloads of each file one by one in the FTX_NZNI_05_SCENERY folder i managed to find which one it was ,

ADE_FTX_NZNI_NZHB.BGL
ADE_FTX_NZNI_NZHB_CVX.bgl
ADE_FTX_NZNI_NZHB_Objects.BGL

after removing these files from the \Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\ORBX\FTX_NZ\FTX_NZNI_05_SCENERY\scenery folder the CTD are fixed ,you are just left with no Hobsonville Airport which i think now is just a new housing development anyway .
hope this helps and may also fix some flp drops around this area[/quote]

Interesting, although I don't get CTD I do get more fps drops around Auckland than anywhere else including Aussie.

There was also this thread in relation to Waiheke a while back, looks like it'll be fixed in time to come. smile.gif

Actually you raise a good point about the flp drops ,as i finished my test flight at 3 am this morning i was getting 29.9 mostly then as i hit certain spots close to maybe a airport the flp spiked down to 1.2 to 14 range then once loaded in view back up to the standard 30 flps .
With so many airports in one area the placement and detail level etc has to be done so carefully as they are all within the 50km radius of each other , i may be able to solve most of this when my Auckland stuff comes out
